The Ford 8.8 Axle from the 1995-2002 Ford Explorer is an excellent upgrade to the TJ Wranglers. Yukon Gear now has a Chromoly Axle upgrade kit to make it better yet.

Let me know when you are ready to start your 8.8 build. We can make you a good deal if you purchase both the axle kit and the Detroit Locker at the same time.

The Yukon Ultimate 88 kit eliminates the factory c-clips and converts your housing to use two 4340 Chrome-Moly bolt in axles. No welding is needed, just a little cutting to remove the factory axle bearing seat. The result is a super strong setup to give you years of hard use on the trail

I am not aware of any conversions for the 8.8 on the JK Wranglers. The width and the lug patterns will be different.

If you do decide to attempt an 8.8 conversion in your JK, be sure to post information on this forum. It would be very interesting to see.

We have various gear ratios for the Ford 8.8 Differential ranging from 3.08 through 5.71

Is there a specific ratio that you are looking for?
