I've pushed on my fenders pretty hard quite a few times(hard enuf to crack or smash a plastic fender) and never came away with any damage yet. As far as pockets to hold salt and grime, even the stock fenders hold a lot of that crap too. Its called paint. And as far as turn signals u can buy a turn/led marker set for 50 bux from gen right, prob even less on ebay. If u wheel serious trails and don't want 2 have ur fender ripped off, get tubes. These r OK for mild or mud trails but if u wanna get serious these aren't the best option
Sir you have a TJ. The people you are talking to have JK's. The steel "fenders" that you are talking about on a JK only replace the flare not the entire fender like it does a TJ. The JK's inner fenders are very thin metal so bolting a 3/16" metal flare to a thin piece of metal is an extremely different setup. Salt will corrode aluminum as well. It oxidizes and forms. These do not make a rig more or less capable. They allow increase in flex. If you plan to rub that close to trees you should just run with out fenders. So you have nothing hanging you up. I would rather the flare pop off if I were to hit a tree then have a fender snag and beat the body up. These are a great looking item that includes your turn signals.

Shipped for 03 TJ to 86005 or 86001? 86005 is a new zip code that may not yet show up in whatever database you use.

I lean my fenders on rocks as we have some tight trails in az and I've never done any damage 2 the body. I've seen jeeps rolled over with good fenders and the damage was so minimal it didnt look like a roll over

Notice they're a "great looking" item not great functional item. and notice they "don't make a rig more capable" even tho it allows for more flex. Wouldn't that b more capable?

I am not sure what you are trying to prove here. I am simply stating that the JK is nothing like a TJ. Rolling a JK with a steel fender is going to cause a lot of problems a TJ steel fender is a full fender. A JK only has a steel fender flare if you go that route.

As for your capable comment that was in regards to steel vs Bushwackers. Neither one improves the capability of a rig over the over. Both serve the same purpose.

Bare aluminum will oxidize faster with salt. Just because you didn't see it was probably because the spots that the salt sat for extended times was not visible. I see aluminum trailers in northern Indiana that are corroded.

Those trailers r made of recycled aluminum. And how old r they? That's y they're made of aluminum. Even recycled aluminum is still corrosion resistent

1st off I do not feel like you are a trailer expert, so that seems to be a bogus remark. 2nd off consider the miles the average trailer gets pulled. Not think about how many miles that is when salt is on the ground. Now a 4x4 vehicle is generally the vehicle of choice for snowy and icy conditions which is when salt is present. Age is not a useful variable in this study as much mileage, specifically mileage in in-climate weather. You have failed to provide any useful information that is backed up with any kind of hard data or facts other than your word of mouth. If you have some real facts that says aluminum does not corrode under salt then please provide those facts. Factory aluminum wheels are coated and when not properly cared for will corrode. Most aftermarket steel and aluminum fenders that i have personally seen have these pockets that are problematic areas for corrosion. I really fail to see what you are trying to prove here with your posts. Bushwacker fender flares are great for wheelers and all vehicles alike. They are durable, not corrosive and provide a clean no body modifications install. They come with LED turn signals to keep you street legal.

I'm interested in these because my 2014 JKU I ordered will have the black plastic flares that fade - does this have better UV protection than the stock flares? Because they look pretty awesome.
