I'm probably going to stop by in a few weeks. I need to 180 my tires and rebalance them as they have 12+ oz on 3/4 tires and shake like crazy. I was going to do it at work, but we have a massive wheel weight shortage and my boss doesn't want me "using all of them".

Stan, Mikes wanting an oil pan skid for the TJ. I made the mistake of mentioning how shocked I was there wasn't one on it and now he's worried and wants one before we go to Big Bear.

He's been looking and with the long arm & Atlas 2 he says he found one by Skid Row that he's pretty sure will work. Do you have any other suggestions? That one is @300. and if there's another option I'd like to know before we spend that.

Thanks,
Lisa

I've got the Skid-Row engine/trans armor. It's super heavy, but tough. Real tough.

Lisa, skid row makes one that works very well, we also make one but there's so many combinations of exhaust systems and transfer case skids, I like to have the jeep at the shop to install it. $379 installed.

Thanks for all the input, I forgot about the Banks exhaust. There are a few odd things that may make a ready made skid not work.

I will pass the info onto Mike, Stan if we have you make one maybe we can just drop the Jeep after Big Bear and then head down the week after or so to get it.

We ran Big Bear without one last time and Keith ran it many times without. I'm going to say a little prayer that one more time won't matter. At least we're trailering it if something gets hurt

I wouldn't worry too much about running Heartbreak and Pontiac. They are pretty tame trails compared to the hard stuff in Big Bear.

I think we're doing John Bull and Gold Mtn. with Dan on Friday. Last time we did Dishpan, John Bull & Gold Mountain without any problems so I'm sure it will be fine. We seem to have really good clearance, it surprises us waiting to hear something hit and then it doesn't.

After this trip we will be having some type of protection installed, that's for sure.

I have the one Stan made for me and it is strong and light. I have bashed it many of times and it barely even scratched.

That's my preference, it's just figuring out the logistics of getting the Jeep there and back. Too bad JPI doesn't have a shop say in Venture area?? Lol.

We will figure it out, I'm trying to see when we're headed to San Diego for a Chargers game, that would work well for either a drop off or pick up

You guys could just open a plumbing supply house in Redlands or Yucaipa and move the whole family to Big Bear.

That's never going to happen, lol. We may be far from a few important things, but we really do live in a great place.

We need a reason for regular road trips, between Calico, Big Bear and Stans place we have those reasons

If you did that, I would definality be a customer. Not enough vendors in that area that specalize in plumbing. Don't really like going to Home Depot for parts on my jobs. But I do understand not wanting to leave where you are...

Maybe Mike can make regular deliveries to the area on our way thru to Big Bear, lol. I'm pretty sure the trip would be a business expense Wonder what the accountant would say to that?

John Bull has been filled in by sand (alot) from the rain since the M&G and Holcomb has been stacked like crazy by all the roadbuilders. Nothing to worry about. Personally I don't think I ever hit my belly skids on those trails anyways.

I did john bull no problem a week and a half ago. Like Moab said it has gotten a little sandy, but it's nothing to worry about. I think I only hit one really sandy spot that gave me a tiny bit of trouble, but just readjusted and plopped right over it.
