What's your plans for stretching the wheelbase on the Yj..and how many inches are you going to push it out?
Are you going to stretch out the front too ?

This customer has plans to stretch it, not this visit but soon. We were talking 103" wheelbase, and 37" Krawlers. About the same for my YJ before I decided to sell the rolling chassis/tub

OK Boss. Time to put the thinking cap on... My left front tire suddenly started making noise and rumbling at low speed like a swamper. Discount tire is replacing it but he said he thinks a shock is going out. It is only in the middle and it is random. The edges are not feathered on the sides. and the outer lugs look perfect. I am going to need to make an appointment to have you look at it and maybe do some work. Look at these and let me know when you come back.
Thanks
Bob

Bob I know the RRD shocks had some miles on them when you bought the suspension used, so It looks to me we may have a bad shock or two.

Yeah I should have listened to you but I thought the used shocks and arms were a smokin deal. Oh well. New shocks and arms are in my future.

Holy crud, you spared no expense, did you?

I would tackle anything with a setup like that ....if I could get my wife to understand how much tip-toeing I do with a gusseted D30 up front......she would understand a 10 grand front build like this!
well done. I am trying to maintain," thou shalt not covet.." but you make it very difficult, man.....

OK I have been looking at the new Rock Krawler Rock Runner stage 2 setup. It comes with 10 inch Coil over shocks in the rear and 12 inch in the front. Do you know just how much that might translate to wheel travel?

Time and materials really, the body mount is a little tricky to move, but works great when finished. Moving the LCA mount up is really only necessary if you run a Genright tank or fuel cell, since the tank is still the low point.

I was thinking about coilovers for my JKU. The EVO bolt on just seems a bit expensive.

The front coil overs and towers look simple to install. The rear is what I'm concerned with I don't want them sticking up into the storage area. What other options is there for our JKU?

My next JK C/O system will be along the lines of an outboard arrangement on a long arm. The axle width will need to be wider of coarse, but well worth it.

Can rear C/O's be installed without going into the rear cargo area and on stock D-44's?

I'm already running the RK 3.5" max travel kit.
Can I just add coils overs and not have to re do all my components?

Would French cutting the rear frame rail be the answer.

I think the lower mounts and sway bar would have to me relocated.

I think all you would have to do is buy the rear shock mounts and then run your kit.
