New TeraFlex JK Spare Tire License Plate & 3rd Brake Light Mount Kit

This bracket will allow you to relocate your license plate and your 3rd brake light to the center of your spare. Or you can just relocate your plate or just your 3rd brake light. These are available now from your favorite TeraFlex dealer! Call them today!

Any pictures of the brake light? Any plans for a license plate light?

I would be interested in how they handle the plate lighting also. The problem with relocating the plate is that you need a way to light up the plate at night and avoid getting a ticket. This was a problem I had to deal with when I relocated mine with the old Teraflex plate bracket.

For the third brake light you just reuse the factory one as it meets all of the DOT regulations. For the license plate light you can pick up a license plate light for a motor cycle, that is what I did when I put this on my wifes Jeep.

Not sure if this will take you directly to it but it's the only picture I have of the wife's Jeep with it installed. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=3&theater

What you guys need to make is a "cup" for the 3rd light. I have your hinge and cut my light off the bracket but the wire/connector is exposed to the elements. It would be nice if there was just a little caup or back side cover for the light itself.

I like the Idea Discdog while all the connectors are water resistant and will be ok it would definitely give it a cleaner looks, I'll pass it onto engineering.

if you guys could come up with a self contained unit that has both the brake and license plate light on the bracket with a waterproof single disconnect I would be all over this. Right now $48 for a metal bracket and bolts isn't going to cut it for me, sorry.

Got rid of my 3rd light but used part of my 3rd light mounting and put red LED strip inside of my spare wheel for my brake light and made a bracket for some back up lights for my Teraflex tire carrier.

Unfortunately with the DOT regulations for lights and lenses I don't foresee us coming out with a combo light. Jetact that is a nice looking bracket, unfortunately in many states including Utah we have to have 3rd brake lights to pass inspection.

I know they want the newer vehicles to have a 3rd brake light but in Oregon i have never been checked. Who knows when that will start. It would be pretty easy to make a few different brackets that would bolt on to the mounts that you have already built. It would just be another option like the new license plate and 3rd brake light mount. I love the tire carrier and it works very well. TeraFlex keep up the good work.

Yeah we unfortunately have yearly safety inspection, it stinks. We are going to work on a bracket like this for the TJ guys as well.

The 3rd brake light is held on by the screws that the factory uses to mount the brake light. I talked to our video guys about doing a quick video on the bracket.

I've got one of these on order. I'll post some pics when I'm done. I already cut off the 3rd brake light stalk from my tire career and sanded and painted it. I gained about 3-4 more inches of visibility out the rear window which was my overall goal.

+1 on the combo light. Price is fine. I just installed my TF hinged tire carrier and spare tire mount. I love the spare mounted third brake light, and I also want to move my license plate.

Installed mine today. Very simply install, here's some pics. I had only one issue, see second to the last pic:

I cut off the the third brake light stalk, sanded and painted it, then used a coping saw to cut the bottom part of the remaining stock light flush. My only problem with the kit is that the stock torx screws only go in so far, and there's a gap and way too loose fit between the bracket and the light. I just used a nut on each side to fill the gap and it worked fine. Next step is to determine a way to wire the license plate light so I can put that onto the mount as well. I'll start looking for the aux power light for the sub which I don't have anyways. It would look something like this:
