Ok! Big sorry to everyone for not being as in touch as I would like to have been! I've been working on these orders but the last two weeks we have also spent much time in the field shooting the good ol fashioned M119A2. Been very busy! I promise I'm not trying to play with any emotions Many more orders should go out this week and next

I know he has been really busy. It took him about 3 weeks to ship mine out. It was no big deal cuz it's still cold. They are worth the wait as they are good quality at a reasonable price.

I got mine last week - shipping box was damaged, but the hardware inside was fine. Haven't had a chance to take a pic, but the colored powder coat looks like it isn't an exact match (not going to return anything - I knew that was a risk, that's why I ordered both the color and the black set of hardware).

Got mine Friday in the same condition - mirrors and hardware were fine, but USPS had crushed one end of the box. Now I just have to wait for Nebraska weather to cooperate...we got teased with 50 degree weather yesterday, and we're expecting a 10"+ snowstorm in the next few days.

I took a quick cell pic this morning, but the color in the pic is pretty far off - auto white-balance turned the Dozer into more like Crush. I've noticed several different cell and point-and-shoot digital cameras have a hard time with Dozer.

I need to use my DSLR and a graycard to get the color closer to right. It looks more like Detonator Yellow than Dozer. I'll do a color comparison with Dewalt yellow and Garmin Montana 600 trim at the same time, since I have them and can put them in the frame as well.

By the way, the two pieces that came in color are the acorn nut and the wraparound bracket that is right next to the nut.

Here is a pretty color accurate shot.

Shot today, overcast sky, Nikon D100, AF Nikkor 50mm 1.8 lens, auto program mode.

For reference, the other items beyond the Defiant mirror are:

Under the mirror, 18% gray reference card used in photography.

Dewalt 18V XRP drill/driver

Garmin Montana 600 GPS

The yellow on the powder coated Defiant trim is a pretty close match to Dewalt standard yellow, a hair darker than the Garmin yellow and definitely more yellow and lighter than Jeep Dozer.

Ok sorry to everyone that has PM'ed me about orders. I didn't want to take new orders just yet as I have been very busy!

Ivoryring I am more than willing to try a different shade, it was difficult to match as I am out in the middle of no where and had to use pictures to match the color rather than the real thing. I'll order some more powder and try to get a closer match. No charge.

I am building my last couple orders today and tomorrow so if you are still waiting they will go out this week.

As far as new orders go, I will be taking them! Just keep in mind my busy schedule and try to have patience with me

I'm not worried about it for me. The Garmin in the pic is mounted in the Jeep - and that has a farther off yellow than the color you sent. I will use the ones you sent as is. Matching paint colors from photos and especially for a difficult to photograph color like Dozer - is a non trivial process. If you really want to match Dozer for other customers, I could send you a bolt with Dozer paint on it. Let me know if you'd like it.

If someone is looking for Detonator, I think the yellow you sent would be a closer match - tell them to hold a piece of Dewalt yellow next to the Jeep and see if it's close enough for their purposes.

Sorry for the lack of communication everyone. Work has been BUSY! I'm not trying to ignore anyone but I also don't want to bite off more than I can chew. I have some current orders open that I am working on and I would just like to finish those before I take any more Thanks for being patient with me! Hey! With the way the military is drawing down, maybe I'll be doing this full time before I know it! lol

"Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; show him how to catch fish, and you feed him for a lifetime." How much would you pay for a step by step video of how to create your OWN Defiant Mirrors with all the details? (Not sure if I would do it yet just curious)

Ok, I'm building some and sending some out today and tomorrow, then I will be taking a mandatory pause because I will be in the field with my unit for a bit. No worries, I shall return and get back to work! Maybe they will even give us a little leave time and I can really catch up!
