It's official. As of today I will only be making three styles of mirrors. I will keep standard at $50. Black powder coat will be going to $60. Colored powder coat will be $65. The current colors that I will have in my shop as of 23 Aug will be Red and Charcoal. I can special order any other color you want for an additional $5. And as my color selection builds up and I have more colors on hand, I will be able to wave the extra $5 charge. Thanks everyone!

No, reason being that the mirrors are designed to slide and attach in the upper door hinge. They can only be attached when the doors are not on the Jeep. In the future I will be looking into making a bracket so that they can be used all the time. It could be a little while though.

I'll say your in the gray area. If you want to wait till my powder coat set up gets here I can refund you $5. You could then choose red, charcoal, or black if you wanted. My set up should be here this week.

is $5 the only significant difference? meaning mirrors themselves are the same? not a big deal if so

The only significant difference in my mind is that I'll no longer have to wait for a powder coat shop for my pieces to be coated! I really try to minimize turn around time on orders! When the pieces are in another shop, I have little control on how fast they get done! I went back up there today to pick up parts and they weren't done. So I just collected them up and I won't be going back. My powder coat set up should be up before the weeks end and I'll be able to get these to you all much sooner. Again to everyone that is currently waiting on powder coated sets, very sorry for the delay!

Miss them already

Just put my doors back on, supposed to rain for a couple of days. I like my Defiant Systems mirrors more than the originals - much better field of view!

I was just wondering, when you started this, did you expect to get as many sales as you are?

Well to be completely honest, not quite. ;-) happy to do it though, something very satisfying in knowing I'm making a quality part for a vehicle that I've come to love so much.

I'm interested in a set of black powder coated for a 2012. Question: what's the difference between standard and powder coated, other than $10? Are the standard ones black also?

The standard are not black but a polished stainless steel. Look on page 1 for pics ;-)

I just received mine in the mail this morning. Black with the powder coated brackets. They look fantastic! I slapped them on and took them out on the highway. They held fast at 70 MPH with only slight vibrating in one mirror. It just needs to be tightened up a bit more and it will be fine.

Overall an amazing bargain. Thanks Defiant Systems! I can finally back into my garage again without breaking my neck.

Example of battleship grey powder coat next to black powder coat. Can also mix the two for a grey and black speckle look. Possibilities are endless!

Love the simplicity of these mirrors!

Would I need to do any prep to the stainless if I was going to bedline brackets?

I just started building up my Jeep and am looking to bedline the "extra" stuff to go with my black paint job.

I would just rough them up with a green pad and soak them in acetone to clean the surface. I bed the bed liner would look tough!
