Poison Spyder BFH Rear Bumpers

The Poison Spyder Customs JK BFH Rear Bumper is designed for those hardcore four-wheelers who value strength, simplicity and function. This bumper was literally "Built For the Hammers" with the best ground clearance and departure angle possible. It is no wider than the Jeep's rear body tub, with angled facets to improve its ability to slide over the rocks. The BFH is CNC laser-cut from high strength 3/16" plate steel, then precision brake-formed for an exact fit.

The basic rear BFH bumper has no provisions for a spare tire carrier. This bumper is intended for those hard-core wheelers who either wheel without a spare or strap the spare down into the bed of the Jeep. It may also be compatible with the OE tailgate-mounted spare tire carrier, depending on the size of the spare tire.

The optional Recovery Shackle Tabs are machined from 1" thick plate steel to provide a secure attachment point for 3/4" recovery shackles. These tabs are specifically engineered to match the angles of the BFH bumper to result in zero loss in departure angle.

NOTES: Install requires cutting of stock frame rails! Bumpers are shipped as bare steel.

Sorry we don't. They come in bare steel only. You'll need to paint or powder coat it locally.

Just received mine on friday. Had the extra shackle mount option done. Has all the hardware attatched. Nice solid bumper. I am just prepping and priming it real well before I put multiple coats of Proffesional grade Rustoleum on it. Nice bumpber. It will fit nicely and I can rid myself of the cheap looking box like rear bumper.

Will my 35" tire still fit on the stock spare tire holder? I have a '12 JK.

It looks like my 33" is barely going to clear in the stock position on my 97. It barely clears with the stock bumper. I don't know about the 2012 but you may be able to raise the tire a bit with an aftermarket kit. Lots of new stuff out for 2012 already.

Hopefully the spare will fit even if I have to add a bracket or something to make it fit. I really like the bumper but I don't want the added weight of an aftermarket tire carrier or losing space in the interior of the truck.

Not with the BFH bumper. It was designed to eliminate the hitch, part of the frame and most of the crossmember in favor of light weight and high clearance. If you need a hitch we offer our RockBrawler bumper which is compatible with the stock tow hitch.

Yes POR-15 is some awesome stuff!

I'll defer to anyone else who posts up with some info on that. The bumper was originally designed for our Spyder JK, which ran without a spare. I've seen a few rigs with this bumper and a spare on the stock mount, but I don't have specific data for what tire sizes fit. My guess is that if the tire is too big to fit with the BFH bumper, its probably also a bit heavier than what you would want hanging on the stock mount and tailgate.

My BFH Poison Spyder Bumper clears the Spare 33"tire by about 1 1/2" on my 97. Install was a snap!

BFH Rear Bumpers for TJ-YJ-CJ are simple, clean and high clearance. Note that this Jeep also has a 1" body lift, in case you noticed the gap between the bumper and the body.
