I just answered a couple of questions in a different forum and thought I should post that here too, just to make sure everyone has all the info:

Thanks for all the interrest. To answer a few questions:

Yes it is 5:00 Pacific. We're in California, sorry I should have specified the time zone.

The way we will pick it is that every Wish List post to our Facebook wall was given a number. Sometime between 4:30 and 5:00 we'll post up the list of entrants so everyone knows the numbers were determined prior to drawing the winner. When we draw the winner, we will use a Random Number Generator, either from a website or on my iPhone, to give us a random number between 1 and the final count of entrants. Whoever's entry corresponds to that number has one minute to respond via the live chat window that accompanies the Livestream video feed. During that time we'll be checking his/her facebook wall to make sure they completed the steps. If those don't check out, or if the person doesn't chime in to claim it during that time, we'll draw another number.

This will all happen on our Livestream feed, accessed through our Facebook page. If you're having trouble finding that, go to our Facebook and look among the tabs at the top. If you don't see it there, click on the >> button to show more tabs and you should see it in there. We will try to move it out so its more visible, so you don't have to dig for it under the >> button.

Its kind of stormy here in the mountains of So Cal today and is supposed to get worse as we get closer to air time. Our broadband uplink is wireless, using cell towers, so there may be a quality issue with the video feed. We'll deal with this as best we can. One way is that we will simultaneously post the drawn name(s) to the Facebook wall in case someone's video feed had cut out as we read the name. I'm sure there will be other technical glitches too, as this is all sort of a big experiment for us, so please bear with us.

Not sure if it was here or in one of the other forums but someone had asked how many entries we had so far, and I think its around 300 as of now.

We'll try to make the broadcast short and sweet, but there will be some other interesting topics we will touch on, so please tune in even if you didn't enter the contest.

Finally, yes it looks like we're going to stick with the requirement that you must be tuned in to win. We had a couple of people ask if we could relax that rule. We discussed it this morning and decided to keep it since one of the goals of this was to test out the Livestream feature and its feasability for this sort of thing in the future.

Thanks and good luck to all.

Thanks. In the directions it said there must be one link supplied. I'm not sure I understood that part. Are you talking about the link to the gift you want the most?

Yes. As per the instructions, when you "Liked" it in the first place you were supposed to also comment on it with the comment field that pops up over the Like button. If you've already "Liked" it but didn't do that, you can just "Share" a link to that item's page on your facebook wall.

Sorry for the complicated instructions. In addition to giving away some cool stuff we're trying to use the opportunity to also boost our Facebook presence.

Ok thanks. Its a genius way to get views on your site. I probably wont win but will most likely end up buying from you anyway!

OK we are having bandwidth problems with the Livestream. Apparently we're overloading our quota. What we are going to do is post live to our Facebook wall, for those who aren't able to see it. You can go back and watch the recorded broadcast later if you'd like. More details to come before we go live, on our Facebook page...

Also, we've posted the list of entrants at the bottom of the instructions page.

It was MONSTER complicated.
The numbers were posted on the contest page at the very bottom.

Thanks to everyone who participated! Despite the technical difficulties we felt it went off pretty well. The problem pretty much boiled down to the fact that the trial version of Livestream we were using does not allow more than 50 connections. That’s something they recently implemented and it wasn’t in the documentation so it took us by surprise. We were trying it out as a video delivery method prior to investing in a premium subscription to the service. We’ll be using the feedback and data from last night’s event to determine whether to invest more in this particular technology. If we do, future broadcasts will allow unlimited connections as well as being advertisement-free—well, that is except for the Spyder gear we’ll be pimpin! So we welcome your feedback, even despite the fact that many of you weren’t able to see the video feed live. If you haven’t done so yet, you can still go back to our Livestream page and watch the recorded broadcast, and let us know what you think.

There were a total of 321 “entries”. The contest was great for us in that it generated a lot of excitement, participation and feedback, on top of our being able to spread some Christmas cheer! We sprang a few surprises on you guys by giving away several more items than just the one top item we had promised to give away. There were five smaller “Swag Packs” full of goodies, plus we drew a winner to give away the Number 10 item on someone’s list. Also, technically TWO people won the main prize, but the first one only had a sweatshirt as his number one so we honored that AND pulled another number. The winner scored a Lazer-Fit Cage Kit valued at about $1,000. Not bad for clicking a few Like buttons and posting to Facebook

For those who missed it, Larry also broke the news that Poison Spyder is moving into a newer, larger facility. That move is actually already in progress. Sadly, we’ll no longer be up here in our beautiful mountain setting, but we’ll be down in town, next to the freeway, with much more room and more power for more machinery. We should be moved in by the first of the year, we’ll post up more info and photos of the new digs soon.

We had a blast doing the broadcast, even though it was a little hectic especially dealing with the Livestream issues. But it was a learning experience for us, we’ll build on what we learned and the next time we do something like this it will be even better. So far 99% of the feedback has been very positive so we think we’re on the right track!
