Thanks to Anthony Fox for these shots. DeFenders with 3" Flares, painted to match body color:
No, thank you for the great product!
This was a extemely easy install. And my tires are 40s! Only a very very slight front axle stretch when we did the front dana 60. The added clearance of the DeFenders makes everything work as a package. Thanks!
We've decided to extend the Introductory Pricing for DeFenders through December 23rd, to help out with your Christmas shopping. So you can still SAVE $100 if you want to give your favorite TJ or LJ owner an awesome Christmas gift But even if you want them for yourself, pull the trigger before Christmas because on the night of the 23rd they assume their regular price.
How difficult is the installation of these fenders?
PSC deffinitly raised the bar for flares as well as body armor with the new DeFender Flares!
1-10 (10 being intense) I'd say a 3! Everything was a snap on install! Best thing about the DeFenders is that they matched up perfectly with my Rock Knockers, no hassle! My rear DeFenders with Crusher Corners are widened for the larger wheel base, running 37's now. For a inside look on the install check out the build!
DJ Harmon's getting closer on his KOH build, including a set of Negative Flare DeFenders:
The side plates on DJ's rig are a prototype pair we made up with louvers. We might offer a louver option soon, but we will probably be turning the louvers vertical rather than horizontal as shown in the photo above.
DeFenders now ship with a pair of blank inserts as shown below. Due to your feedback, these are now made without the Spyder cutout, and included in the DeFenders kit at no extra charge. Another upgrade we made is that they now have captured nuts on the backside, so you don't have to fumble around blindly behind the DeFender with a wrench.
We still offer the Spyder Side Inserts, for those who would like to add to their spyder count LOL...These can be used by themselves, in which case they allow for some airflow through the cutout to help keep underhood temps down. Alternatively, they can be "stacked" with the blank inserts that are now included with the kit.
Any chance this replacement inner fender is going to happen soon? I really want these but don't like the idea of cutting the inner fender and possibly screwing it up
Probably not REAL soon. We will probably do them when we do the hi-line version, as it will be pretty much a requirement with those. But that won't be for several more months at the earliest. We have them on our list but there's no definitive schedule with dates that I can give you.
Congratulations to our friends at Savvy Off-Road, Currie Enterprises and Falken Tires for their stock class win and OVERALL win in the KOH Every Man Challenge! We're proud that our aluminum DeFenders in Zero Flare were along for the ride!
Congratulations to DJ Harmon and his 8th place (overall) finish in the KOH Every Man Challenge! We're proud that DJ chose Poison Spyder armor for his Jeep, including a set of aluminum DeFenders with Negative Flares
kerad11, sorry there are no current special offers on the DeFenders. The only membership-based discount we offer is for active duty US military. Let our sales department know if you qualify for that when you order. Thanks!
Product development on the High-Line version of our DeFender product line is in full swing!
This is the "Negative Flare" version of our prototype High-Line DeFender for TJ (it will also be available in Zero Flare and 3" Flare versions). Note that it moves the top of the fender up to the horizontal ridge in the side of the hood/cowl to provide massive tire clearance. The back of the wheel opening is also much further back than stock. This is an unfinished prototype piece we made for doing some initial fitment. The final version will be much more refined.
The lines of the High-Line DeFenders will flow nicely with the Jeep's grille.
A sheetmetal inner fender will be available for the High-Line DeFender, mocked up here in cardboard (for those of you wishing for an inner fender option for our regular DeFenders, that will be forthcoming as well).
As with other manufacturers' highline fenders, these will require trimming the bottom edges of your stock hood or purchasing an aftermarket hood designed to work with high-lines. We are thinking of offering our own high-line compatible hood in fiberglass.
I'll post up more photos and info as they become available. And for those of you still waiting for us to finish up the YJ and CJ regular DeFenders, those are pretty much done, just waiting on final revisions and assembly fixturing.
When do these bad boys come out? Any ideas in what the price will be?
If you're referring to the high-line DeFenders, we're not ready to quote a release date on them yet. There are still a lot of steps before they become a production part. Same thing with price, we won't be able to figure out the pricing until we're done designing all of the components and doing a cost analysis.
That said, I'll give you my best guesses as long as you don't hold them against me if my predictions don't pan out. It's possible the high-line DeFenders could be in production within the next 2 months, possibly sooner. But we're rolling out the YJ and CJ regular DeFenders first, so these will fall in behind those. Price-wise, all I can say is they'll probably be a little higher than the standard DeFenders because there's more material in them, and the inner fenders will be sold separately.
