YJ DeFenders are READY! All six versions are now available:

YJ DeFenders with Negative Flare (Links: Steel - Aluminum)

YJ DeFenders with Zero Flare (Links: Steel - Aluminum)

YJ DeFenders with 3" Tapered Flare (Links: Steel - Aluminum)

The new 3" Tapered Flare was designed for maximum performance in several aspects. First, it provides the same splash protection of our regular 3" flare, keeping mud and debris from splashing up onto the side of the Jeep. But rather than having a straight side, the edge of the flare tapers inward toward the front of the Jeep, in a line parallel to the tapered edge of the hood. In this manner it tapers from 3" at the back, to about the same width as our "Zero Flare" at the front, providing the same great clearance for articulating tires and tight trails that our Zero Flare provides.

For those wondering about wider widths, we have plans to do a wider version in the future, after we're done rolling out the CJ versions and the high-line versions.

No updates at this time. We are going to complete the YJ, CJ and TJ high-line roll-outs before we start adding different widths. So its at the very least a few months out.

Yes, but not until we're done rolling everything else out (CJ, High-lines, etc), then we'll go back to the beginning and start doing some other stuff, such as the tapered, wider, etc.

You'll need to call and speak with our sales department. 951-849-5911. I'm in marketing and don't have the juice to make special deals. Thanks!

Highline TJ DeFenders are just about ready for production. Here are the 3" Tapered Flare version, test-fit on the LJ we're currently building as Larry's next trail rig:

Battery tray lift bracket will come with the kit, like with the standard DeFenders that are already in produciton. Air box and other fender-mounted accessories will be up to the installer to mount or relocate as needed.

The inner fenders are a 3-piece design, bolt-together so they're less bulky to ship, made of aluminum.

The 3" Tapered's are our favorite so far. These will also be available in Negative Flare and Zero Flare, and each variant in both steel and aluminum.

We're not sure yet of a production date for these but I'll update this thread when I have some info on when these will be available. In fact we'll probably start a new thread here in the vendor section just for the Highlines once they're in production.

There are no plans for a wider version of the DeFender XC (the highline version). There are plans for wider versions of the standard height DeFenders. But I do not have a time schedule for them.

We provide a hole in the front corner near the grille (standard DeFenders only, not on the XC's), that you can install one of our 3/4" LED lamps in to. These are DOT approved and have a bump-out so they are visible from the side. If that's not good enough and you feel you need to add one in the side, you can drill a 3/4" hole just about anywhere for one of our 3/4" LED's. If you're a little more adventurous you can look up Jerry Bransford's install thread and see how he installed a rectangular side marker lamp.

Yes, just like the current ones. At some time in the future we will offer a replacement inner fender set like we have for the DeFender XC's, which will allow you to either keep the stock inner fenders or use the replacment ones. Until then re-using the stock ones or fabbing your own are the options.

what's the point of fenders that don't cover the full wheel? Any that do offer full wheel coverage or will I have to fab that?

We have plans to offer a wider version of the DeFenders in the future. Most people prefer less wheel coverage in order to provide more clearance from rocks and trees when wheeling.

After looking at enough fenders for my TJ that my eyes are bleeding Ive decided on the P.S. Defenders w/3"flare.Question is,whets everyones thought on alum vs steel? I like the strength of steel but when one gets whacked by that tree I slide into wont the alum be better to absorb the impact? Im really afraid with the steel, the impact would cave the side of my Jeep in.

I went aluminum to save weight. Steels weight like 28lbs each. Aluminum is 10lbs each. I don't think see the aluminum realling "caving" because of impact.
