I think if I trim the plate all the way round it won't look like I cobbled it, too bad. Then, mount it between the lights with drilled and tapped bumper so I don't have to reach round behind to fix the nuts on. Bumper is thick enough that tapped holes should hold the plate ok.
Can you take a pic of your license plate setup once it's done?

I'm looking for ideas.

Tell him you want the version 2.0 bumper with the improvements I mentioned above like room to mount a license plate between the fog lights. See what he says.

All,
As promised, I wanted to provide both my thoughts as well as a few more pics of this bumper. Let me start by saying that this bumper is absolutely the real deal. I left for Rausch Creek and a couple of days of hard wheeling (lots of carnage) and had the opportunity to put the bumper through it's paces. My good buddy decided it would be a good idea to take his full size 4 door Dodge ram pickup out on the trails. Naturally, he beat the living snot out of it and inevitably sank the focker. All was well until he started yelling "WATER IS COMING IN GET THE (&(*& OUT OF HERE". I hooked up to the front shackle (didnt have time to bother with anything else) and pulled for all she was worth. He was so bogged down in mud I was sure the bumper was going to tear right off... it didnt, and we got him out.

I also have to say, this bumper looks sharp, was very easy to install, and is definintely every bit as tough as anything else out there. Here is another shot from this past weekend with a better view of the skid...

I think someone asked for a straight on shot

As you can see, i ran into the same issue with the license plate.. it is JUST too wide to fit between the fog lights. Id estimate the plate goes over the fogs by about 1/2 inch on each side. I plan on simply running a fairlead plate attachment (Rock Hard 4X4 RH4006-F - Rock Hard 4x4 Parts Roller Fairlead License Plate Bracket with Theft Prevention Cabled Lanyard - Quadratec) to get around that issue, but honestly, the way I had it rigged up for the weekend looked just fine. I used a couple of zip ties and a few strips of gorilla tape at the bottom which will hold me over. The fogs were basically unaffected when I tested them at night.

I personally am very happy with the purchase, and am confident that this bumper setup not only looks VERY good with the JK, but will serve me well for years to come. Chris also proved himself to be a helpful and knowledgeable resource, he will be getting my business in the future for sure.

Here's what I did to remedy the license plate issue. Two words: tin snips.

Then I drilled and tapped four M6 x 1.0 holes for the stainless socket cap screws and presto!

What d'ya think?

BTW, the 1/2" shackles are spaced out at the bumper with 1" ID PVC Sch 40 cut to 5/8" width (3/4" might be better). Eliminates the rattling around since the bumper is narrower than the shackles. Wish I coulda found some black spacers, but what the hay?

With a Warn on top the bumper and lights on top the bull bar, is cooling going to be an issue? I'm thinking of setting mine up just like this, but it looks like the radiator won't be able to see the road. Just wondering.

The winch really doesnt impact air flow to the radiator at all. I've been running on the beach in extremely hot weather with no ill effects whatsoever. Slow speed in hot sand means even less air flow. Like i said, no issues at all.

The question I am less confident in answering is what may happen with lights mounted. I cant imagine it would have a huge impact, but I always hesitate to make statements without personal experience.

How about just making a bumper that looks just like the stock one but instead of plastic, make it with the lightweight alloy steel? That's what I want

Some Pics

Here are some shots of the structure of the bumper and how the stock fog lights mount up. Just need to drill the holes on the fog lights out to 5/16 and they fit right on to the mounts.

Bumper is super sturdy and the welds and powder coat are very good quality.

I am very happy

I hope they come out with a rear bumper like this, but full width, tire carrier, and accessory mounts like gerry cans, hilift, etc. If they do, I'm on it. I wanted heavy bumper for the front, but not for the rear.

Whats up guys and gals. Looking to order some new bolts and nuts in black oxide for my install. Anyone have any info as far as what i should get. Interested in how many bolts are needed for the bumper and what you recommend as far as material, size, type, and vendor. Thanks in advance.

Black oxide? Stainless matches the silver body nicely, don't you think? Oh...wait....you didn't get a silver one? LOL

Making sure that I'm not an idiot, but, I installed the 8 bolts that attach the bumper to the front of the Jeep.

But I have a package of 5 1.25" and 2 1.75" bolts with two large washers and 8 smaller washers.

I'm presuming that we use the 2 1.75" bolt to bolt down the bull bar onto the bumper? If so, what's the 5 1.25" bolts for?

Am I over looking anything? Since there are 4 slots on the bull bar, why aren't there four bolts/washers/nuts?

These four are definitely for the skid plate:

Nevermind, I got my bolts mixed up. The bolts from the second picture are for the bull bar. I ended up guessing right and got it confirmed from the other forum.

So I ended up making a pair of L brackets to mount my license plate.

Overall, I really love this bumper. Looks much better in person. Installation was pretty easy, I ran into issues with removing the stock plastic screws. I got half of them out and got pissed off and drilled the remaining out.

The vacuum pump on the 2013 made it a pain in the ass to remove the stock bumper bolt around that area.

The bolts from LoD are a little short, but, I don't see it as an issue. I needed up putting loctite on them just to be safe.

Thanks again Chris! I'm hoping for a rear bumper!

This bumper is not on their web. I am told no relocation is required. I called LOD directly as was concerned about winch capacity for this light weight bumper. They put this through the test. They have some 14000# 6 wheel military vehicle they attached the bumper to, to drag around some other oversized piece of commercial equipment with a bigger than normal wench and it held up. He told me my JKU was to small for their testing. I don't remember all the details, but next call was to order one. It will be here tomorrow.

Installed mine today with VR10000s winch. Mid-width Bumper with bull bar. No instructions provided, but used instructions off their web for another bumper to remove factory bumper. Easy install, no relocation required, requires 18mm socket, which is not in most metric sets. Very tight fit with winch control box and bull bar as aux light tab extends too far back. It fits, slightly off centered. May grind tab back at later date when installing lights. Also drilling out fog lights required 5/16 drill bit, instead of 1/4 in instructions as attach bolts not perfectly aligned, but close enough with a slightly larger hole. It does look good installed. Had 1/4" drop in front end with the mod. Note synthetic line on winch saved 30#.

Update. Was able to slide winch back so everything lines up straight, also added PIAA 520 lights and the skid plate. LOD we need a rear armor lite bumper now.
