aiming off-road lights

Where exactly should your lights be aimed? I thought I had mine aimed correctly but now it looks to be too high. FYI, they are mounted on the top of my bumper.

If they are for OFF ROAD then wherever YOU want the light. I wouldn't go too far out because you would end up with to many shadows. My HIDS are driving lights, I have them aimed so I can use them on the road also. They light up the area directly in front of the Jeep and about 80' out...they are also on my bumper. It also depends whether they are spot or flood lights...

Well I can see nicely with them in the woods at night but I've never been behind anyone. Tonight, I had someone in front of me and they didn't much care for where I had them. BTW, they are 100w halogens.

Yeah when I run my HIDS (55W) on the road and come up behind someone they're not appreciative. I'll usually shut them off but never had an issue with oncoming traffic. An option if you want them for off road use only would be windshield mounts, that way you have more of a downward angle...
