anyone got ideas on how to make HID(hella) look normal?

Hey there experienced jeepers. I want to add hids to my jk. Anyone have suggestions on making the them look like normal lights vs the attached photo?

Get the clear plastic bezel and "frost" them, that is paint the inside of the bezel with a glass frosting paint. Should make them blend in better.

Those lights work very well, btw, and are legal.
Thank you for looking for a legit product.

photo of those lights installed on my friend's 60:

and the halogen version on my other friend's AEV JK:

The hids that are oem on porsches, etc. they are true hids, not kits plugged into the wrong projectors. Daniel Stern told me they are the best option for jeeps

Yeah; they rock.
More or less a perfect spread of LIGHT.
They are not cheap but they work great.
Available from SMS

The halogen option works nearly as well due to the bypass harness; the downside is the relatively short lifespan of an H9 bulb when fed that much voltage.

Hello everyone, new to this particular forum. I have been doing HID retrofits on the side & I am looking to do a JK HID retro small size groupbuy if I can get enough interest. I use Morimoto HID components from TheRetroFitSource.com for all my retrofits. I have talked with the owner of TRS & he has made me a deal on kits if I buy at least 10 at a time. I am using their Bi-Xenon Stage III Mini H1 kits which retails for $270 & JKs need a Mopar specific relay harness for our lovely can-bus system & it sells for $50. I also am a ASE Master Tech & a certified Chrysler tech at a Jeep Dodge Ram Chrysler dealership. So I know about our rides.

But I am looking at doing retrofits for $400 inlcuding parts & labor. The parts will come with a 5yr warranty from TRS. I will use your stock headlamp housing as well. I have 1 set of stock lamps & I can retro those send them to you & you send me your stock ones back or you can send my yours & I do them & send them back. Takes me only a day to turn them around. I can paint the housings & shrouds & add LED halos for a little extra. Heres a few I did on my XJ & my wife's JK to show you the work. And if you ask around the Morimotos from TRS are regarded as the best product & have the best customer service in the business.

Thumbs up Here's what i did...

I painted my trim rings black and they blend in great. They are also amazing for driving at night on roads with no streets lights!

I don't understand how these are more legal than a standard retrofit? These appear to be Hella 90mm projectors in a custom housing. Can someone explain to me how these are more legal than taking a "stock" projector housing and retro fitting it in a housing?
