Has anyone any information on an equivalent 5" Black Box logistics light? (Black Box Logistics - RX Series)

I'm wondering if they (BBL) are the only ones carrying them at the moment.
They look fairly good, priced within reason. My Only concern is "only" 1 year warranty... Russell aka Backcountryboy129 sells Lifetime Leds... got my HIDS from him...LIFETIME Warranty that sold me!

Meh...they will either break on the third day or never. Never had a problem with anything LED unless it's built like crap, in which case, its dead within 24 hours.

Famous last words! But given the choice for same amount of money I'll take the warranty.

Thereby creating jobs in another country, will it be ours?

So get off your high horse and contribute something useful or just be quiet!

First, thank you for your service.

Second, I hope you didn't study international business because you haven't got a clue about China but that's OK, many people don't understand that country or global economics, etc.

Your "guesses" that the the prices of Chinese products will go up and create more global competition are just that guesses. Until you understand the size and importance of the market in China for the Chinese, you won't understand global economics. You also need to understand how the Chinese government works and what its priorities are but that's obviously beyond you or this discussion.

But it's OK because you told me to "get off my high horse and contribute something useful or just be quiet" so you've put me in my place, huh? I guess your opinion is useful but, because you say so, mine's not.

So you do work for the government huh?

I really like how you guys seem to think that buying Chinese products won't hurt American companies or their workers (all of us) because "competition is good and the prices of goods from China will rise which will make American products more competitive." You guys have no clue.

For the guys arguing about American made, it is understandable that its better to buy american made products to help support the companies that do make great products. I personally try to buy American made products more then the china stuff, and usually American made stuff will cost about $100-$600 more then the china copy. However, paying $1500 for a American made LED that is almost the same thing as a China made LED for $500, is beyond me.

Buying American has a time and place for it, and in my opinion, it is not worth saving the extra $1000 for a similar product when buying an LED.

I carry them. Again, Hanma lights. That model of light is 6000 lm. You can land planes with it. One of those by itself is brighter than a 13.5" double row bar.
They have a 3x3 version of that light that puts out 8000 lumens!!!!! You can land space ships with that one.

I can tell you that they are heavy and about the size of an old school KC Daylighter.

Ok, so I have the basics down on the wesbite. It is still a work in progress and is by no means completed. But I do have evertyhing I sell listed on there, so you can get a idea of what I sell right now through Aurora. I am also thinking of selling the Hanma's lights as well if I can get enough feedback from you guys on those lights, whether you would be interested in them or not. I am gonna post the website below so you can go check it out, and see what all I have. I will say, please dont mind the prices on the lights, some of them aren't set in stone. I just placed those prices so I can see where I have room to come off the price(especially for you forum members, since ya'll have help me through this stuff). If you would like to order off the site, please contact me on here first, because I am still trying to figure the shipping setup as well(website building is not easy! lol). I will post the website I sell for Lifetime LED Lights on here as well so you can see what they have to offer, and again, I have room to play around with the prices on that site as well.

As, for the site kicking off, I am thinking of running a little early christmas shopping deal, like for two weeks, I will offer free shipping on all lights. Would that be something worth interest? And also, please, shoot me some feedback on what ya'll think of the site, and what I can do to make it better. I know I am in the process of listing the lumens and actual specs on the lights in the description, so that will be completed in the next couple of weeks.

My Site: Welcome to Southern Suicidal Lighting -

Lifetime LED Lights: Welcome to Lifetime LED Lights - guaranteed for life

Thanks again guys.

Ok, so I wasn't happy with those prices, they were not low enough!! So please go back and check out the new prices. And if I quoted you a price that is higher than what you see on the website, please let me know through PM. If it is lower on the site, that is the new prices, so that will be your updated quote. The prices don't include shipping, but we are gonna have a permanent policy that if you spend over $300, you get free shipping anyways.

You should probably check the wattage for it cause there is obviously someone getting better deals on it than me. Cause I don't even get the light for 550! You want a 50" for 550 I will sell you a lifetime led which is only 3w LEDs. Can you please post the link where that light sells for that?

Highly doubt it, unless you are buying by the thousands. I bought mine from Aurora directly, at the wholesale cost, and it was considerably more. Are you sure you are talking about the Aurora dual row unit, and not the single row?

Same here, I dont even get them for that price. I'd like to know so I can buy my lights from that seller. And 28k Lumens is the spec on the dual row 5w light bar but not for sale for $550. And the suicidal name on the light is jsut us naming the lights after our business. They are still aurora lights.

It definitely is a global economy these days and when transport is as economical as it is, the idea of comparative advantage is more important than ever. If you decide to start a company that uses KEY components that are not owned by you and made by your own, you open yourself up to this type of imitation. Face it, if the led is made by another and all you do is design a box, how difficult is it to copy "your" product? YOu cannot get made about that and you're not doing any good by buying from the domestic "manufacturers." Secondly, a lot of the american companies that import products MOVED their operations off of US soil. In my home town, I know of 6 enormous plants that have shut down over the last decade, i'm talking about places the size of city blocks. These companies picked up and left the US of their own accord to set up shop in mexico, china, and wherever else, because they could no longer compete if they continued here. It makes no sense to blame the countries the companies moved to, blame your own american companies. all this "chinese made" talk is nonsense because it would not seem so bad if the shoe were on the other foot and america had a trade surplus due to high exports and an influx of multinationals making a home here. Not everything foreign made is cheap, foreign made tv's, stereos, computers, phones, cars, etc crushed the western branded equivalents because they were better, not just better for the price.

Hey guys, just dropping in to provide some info you may find interesting. To start with, I've been organizing and facilitating Aurora group buys for almost a year now after doing a ton of research into the LED industry and reaching out to them directly. In fact, Eric (above) gets all his lights through me. Here's the scoop:

1. A few months ago, Aurora released a new full line of their lights with what they're calling "AR Optics." As others have mentioned, they used to sell lights that infringed on JUST TWO of RI's optics patents (which, btw, are the only two patents RI has on their lights... and they also inherited those two patents by purchasing another company, they didn't come up with them themselves). As a result of THREATENED legal action, Aurora stopped selling those optics, started briefly selling lights with generic optics, and decided to engineer their own NEW optics to compete with RI without infringing on their two patents. The new AR Optics are the result of more than a year of design and testing on JUST the optics. Please note that the comparison NFR did earlier in the year, and described early in this thread, was probably NOT done with Aurora's new optics. I'll bet a pair of Spot beams that the new AR Optics are just as good, or better, than the patented RI optics!

2. Aurora also recently released a new series of light bars using 10W LEDs (instead of 3W or 5W). The first light they've released with these new LEDs is the ALO-2-P4T SPOT BEAM which is a 2" cube (4 x 10W) that puts out a RIDICULOUS 3200 raw lumens... each! (I have several pairs of these on the way to me right now for my latest group buy) Please compare these to the RI Spot beams (the original Duallies), at just 1300 raw lumens, and get back to me.... (HA!)

3. The Aurora DRIVING Beams that compete directly with RI D2's are called "ALO-2-D1C." They do not have the new AR Optics, and they still use the older 5W LEDs, but they're also rated for 3200 raw lumens each! (Compared to 3030 for the RI D2). Unfortunately, Aurora doesn't (yet) have an actual "DRIVING" beam light with their new AR Optics. Instead, they sell a new "Flood" beam with the AR optics that casts a very similar, but not identical, beam of light.

4. A pair of P4T's costs me roughly $110 (shipped and WITH harnesses)

5. A pair of D1C's costs me roughly $110 (shipped and WITH harnesses)

6. I highly recommend contacting them directly and organizing your own group buys with all the jeeper friends you have in your local jeep clubs. (If you're on Facebook and in the Northern VA or DC area, send me a pm and I'll gladly add you to our private group buy page).

7. Not a single one of the 100+ Aurora lights my friends and I have ordered over the last year have failed or suffered from any issues. We did have one 10" mount crack during installation, but Aurora promptly mailed me a replacement, for FREE, in less than a week.

8. The Aurora product list is actually about ten pages long, and it includes light covers, Jeep-specific mounts, LED flashlights, and bars of every shape and size (it's a badass catalog! LOL). They also have just about every wiring accessory you could ever want...

9. If you have any questions at all about Aurora lights, feel free to ask me any time!

Oh, and for those who asked about the larger bars, I can get the dual-row 50" bars for ($550 + shipping + PayPal fee = roughly $650) when I get one as part of our larger group buys... that's 100x5W LEDs = 500W, and 28,000 raw lumens of pure unadulterated sickness!

The model number for those is ALO-50-P4E4D.

If you are going to place an order, Im going to be in the market for some of the flush mounts pretty soon, so if you are stocking some lights, maybe get a few of those so I can get them from you instead of ordering a set of 10 from Aurora like I did last time.

I definitely don't stock them... I just help organize the group buys, and we try to keep it local for easy distribution once they arrive. (I hate having to ship stuff...LOL)

You trying to get the flood, spot, or driving flush mounts?

Since they are for the rear, floods are the way to go. Im also trying to convince them (aurora) to make a single row flushmount. Lets see where this goes.

I was just browsing rigid's site looking at the A series lights, and noticed something interesting...they no longer write "Made in the USA." They took a hint from Apple I guess...

They now say this... "Designed, Engineered, &

Pale, I'd definitely be interested in participating in one of those group buys. I live in new york though so it might be a problem for you. I can't find anything about those 10w cubes, where can I find info about them?

I've just read through this whole thread...very informative.
Once my jeep gets out of the shop and funds come back in line after Xmas I'll be ordering from Southern Suicidal.
I'm retired military and buy American products whenever possible, but I have been on plenty of deployments where we used gear that wasn't American made....including our food!

blackberry just did the same thing with the foxconn deal (coincidentally apple's partner). I'm sure rigid's sales have fallen with all of the competing products on the market but probably not to the level BBRY's sales have fallen. If i remember right though, KC's led's are actually manuf. and built entirely in the US, or at least that's what they said in one of their promo videos. ..probably one of their sema videos on youtube.

do they look anything like all the 10w, single element LED's all over ebay and amazon? they come in both square and round lenses with one large round led surface in the center.

Not at all. These are the real deal... 4x10W LEDs... brighter than hell with a really nice pencil (spot) beam.

Aurora lights are not like anything you're seeing on eBay.

Aurora ALO-2-P4T = 40W Spot = 3200 lumens
Rigid Dually = 20W Spot = 1300 lumens
