Black Box Logistics 50 inch DRX Light bar Install, help!

I ordered a 50 inch DRX light bar from Black Box Logistics that arrived today. I thought it would come with enough wiring to make it to my sPod. It doesn't. I want to cut the Deutsch connector off and wiring it directly to my sPod. Any issue with this? What gauge wire do I need to go with? I was thinking 12.

I have not installed a 50in bar but their 2x3 led on A-pillars. We did not use their wiring harness and cut the end off and used standard wire connectors. I cannot remember the gauge of wire we used. Did you buy their wiring harness as part of the kit? How much wire does this come with?

No, I didn't buy the wire harness. When I saw it on their web site I thought it was a switch kit which I did not need since i'm going to run it to the sPod.

As I remember the sPod install instructions came with a chart saying what gauge wire was needed for the appropriate amp rating/distance. For my install #14 AWG was adequate for almost any length within my 2 door JK to accommodate the 15 amps of my light bar. So I just spliced in a short length of #14 AWG. #12 AWG would work fine.

I'm sure you already thought of this, but double check the amp rating of the light bar so you can be sure the sPod has the appropriate fuse in place for that switch. If not, replace the fuse in that switch with the correct rating. Make sure the other five switches also have the correct fuse rating for the accessory each one powers.

Thanks for the info. In the middle of my install right now. I went with the 14.
