HID Noob Questions

Hi guys,

I'm a first time user of these forums (I've been reading on here for a while) and got an '06 TJ Sport back in September. I'm slowly working at upgrading it, and one thing I've looked at is HID's because of how bad the stock headlights are.

A friend of mine had his replaced by a guy he's friends with and he can also do mine for $150. Now I know of all the problems with projectors and replacing the headlights etc. to get xenon bulbs in them, so I wanna take a closer look at the install he did for my buddy.........what things should I be looking for? Also, is $150 a decent price? That would be $150 for all of the parts and for the installation. Thanks guys.

Cheers.

HID's in reflectors is a no no. A lot of.glare, plus it's illegal. I'd say if you're dead set on putting an HID kit into reflectors, get a housing with a very sharp cutoff, such as cibies or hell a e-codes. Otherwise, maybe you should consider going all at it and getting a projector kit. But hey, what do I know? I'm certainly not an expert. xD

Thanks for the reply. I'm definitely not dead set on the idea, but I figure if I'm gonna go out and buy Silverstars or something equivalent to them I'll be spending at least $60 and I might be replacing them within the next two years. Might as well get HID's installed for $150 if I'm gonna do that. That being said, if I need to replace the housing then its not worth it. It's not illegal up here in Canada as far as I know :P. Thanks again.
