Biggest factor is what will your wallet allow and what look you are looking for.
Just curious as to how the high beams compare? I heard the Truck lites are really bright where the JW are so so....true or myth?

Just got back from a road trip out to NY and back and on my way there I drove through some weather. Stopped for a while to grab some dinner and when we got back in to continue, it was nighttime. Seemed like when we got out of the city, it was like my lights didnt even look like they were on. Turns out so much salt residue accumulated, the light couldn't even make it through, you could barely tell they were on. I cleared off the salt at a gas station and the stock lights worked better, but still, reaffirms that the stock lights are crap, dangerous honestly...After that experience, I decided new headlights are a must. Been looking at the speakers, but I just cannot justify spending that kind of money on head lights, so I'll be going with the TL's.

Yea, I realized it last night highway driving as well. Even though my lights were on, I could barely see in front of me. I thought my lights weren't on. Still debating though on the two.

We didn't compare the high beams. When I first turned my high beams on I was out on a test drive after I had installed them, I was disappointed. Then I realized that they were shinning up in the tree limbs above the road. I adjusted the headlights on my garage door at 25 feet. This brought the high beams down so they are now shinning on the road instead of shooting out into space. I'm very happy with the performance of both the high beams and the low beams.

I know this thread compares two lights, but there is a third LED option out there. KC now makes a HiLite LED replacement for the headlights. Does anyone know anything about these? How do the KC lights compare to the Trucks or Speakers?

I have the Truck lites and they are great for the price. $358 I would have a hard time justifying another $300 for the JW. I find it hard to believe they provide that much more light. However, JW do offer a Life time warranty on their lights...

That's right. $499.99 at Quadratec. You may be able to get them for less somewhere else, but that seems to be the MSRP. Still, less than the Speakers.

Anyone know anything about them?

Dunno but now that the truck lites were going for 315 on Ebay, made in USA, will be hard to beat them. I am loving mine

I've looked at the JW and am wondering which lights everyone went with. I saw at least a handful of different headlight options. Some with H4.

It's pretty simple...those willing to pay went with the JW Speakers...the others went with Trucklites. Either way you will be pleased with the results.

I just ordered a pair of JW Speaker 8700's and a pair of Trucklite anti-flicker harnesses. The prices I found on the other sites were about the same, so just went with Quadratec since they've always been dependable.

I reminded myself last night how much I really needed to upgrade my headlights by attempting to drive home without the fogs on. After a string of curses and a mile later, I turned the fogs back on because one simply cannot drive with the headlights, alone (at low beam anyway).

Has anyone upgraded to the JW fog lights? Curious to know how they are v/s the stock fogs?

JW 6145 fogs are far better than stock and compliment the 8700s nicely.

Ordered my Truck Lite's last night with my Christmas money from my Grandparents, and the Amazon card I got from work, plus my Tenure Bonus.

$360 off Amazon (not there anymore), plus the cards and money from Christmas, they only cost me $80. Should be here next Thursday, can't wait.

Just installed Truck-lites with a RallyLights harness, first impressions disappointed so far. Previous lights were $35 eBay HIDs/stock housing that were brighter with a better spread but worse cut off. The driver side sticks out forward slightly more than the passenger side, pretty sure they were seated all the way but I need to double check. Read about the TLs fitting a bit loose, so I also wrapped them in electrical tape so the retaining ring would fit snug. V hot spot was really noticeable, not sure if I can get use to them. If the TLs don't grow on me, I'm gonna sell them and go back to halogen lights with Hella E-code housings.

Have you adjusted them properly?
The hot spot can be minimized by playing with horizontal aiming.
I know every Jeep is different, mine did not need any tape to fit snug.

Haven't had time yet, just set them so the cut off is right about the top edge of a trunk of a small sedan. Another thing I noticed is when I'm 2-3 feet from a wall, the high beam hot spots are offset compared to my low beam. High beams look centered, low beams are off to the right a bit. Noticeable when I'm driving straight, the V hot spot is closer to the right lane.

Installed my Trucklites yesterday. Plug and play install. No modifications- perfect fit. Upgraded from an H4 halogen, so they were already brighter than stock. Really light up the road- very pleased.

Make sure to aim them properly, if street signs are crazy bright you might be aimed too high

Just installed the TLs on my YJ. I gotta say Im not really impressed with the beam pattern. Looks like stock only brighter. No decent cutoff, just two bright hot spots. My Hella H4s had a way better pattern and I was just running regular wattage Sylvania bulbs.

That said, they do light up the road pretty well. I'd probably compare them to the reflector-style OEM HIDs. Im gonna play around with the aiming and run them for a week to see how I feel about them. Right now though, I don't think they are several hundred dollars better than a good H4 upgrade.
