KC Headlights ??

I searched for this but didn't see it. There are so many headlight threads I would have thought this came up.

Can someone report on their experience with the KC Headlight conversion?

KC HiLiTES 42302 - KC HiLiTES H4 Headlight Conversion Kit for 07-13 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec

Id like to know this as well..

Also.. I'd like to know how much a full h4 harness (Daniel Stern or RallyLights.com) makes a difference on this set up. The H4 conversion for $100 just has H4 housings/bulbs and H13 -> H4 adapters.

The KC HiLites are my favorite housing visually. I wonder how they compare to the Hella, ARB/IPF, Cibie.

I was at my local 4WD Parts store in Raleigh today. As I was browsing the aisle of aux lighting and one of the tech guys told me that H4 headlight upgrades just didn't make that big a difference over stock. They recommended the Trucklites or JW Speakers.

Given the cost of those two options I may just add a set of $124 KC Driving lights to my bull bar and signal them (switchable) from my high-beams so that I can have them come on and off with the high beams.

My KC fogs are signaled by the factory fog wiring so they go "off" when the high beams kick on.

That might get me what I need until I can afford the big headlight upgrade.

I just installed my KC H4 kit. I like it so far. It has a sharper beam and is brighter. I used a light meter to measure my stock headlight's output, then my KC 55w fog lights (more measurable light than my low beams). Now my KC H4 lows outperform my KC fogs on the light meter. The High Beams on the stock lights were barely brighter than the lows, it's improved with the KC's.

I've just installed them and only drove around the city, but can see my beams on the ground when I could barely see them with the stockers. Another good thing as these may be a hair whiter than the stock bulbs, but are not that ugly blue/white crap that causes glare in snow and fog. I know some people like that for looks but it's not feasible here as we do get lots of fog in the spring/fall and snow in the winter time. In the past I bought Silverstars and swapped them out as their bluish light disappeared in rain/fog/snow. Stock color is the best for me.

$109 was worth it to me for better safety. If I want more light I'll go get the Philips Extreme 80+ bulbs but I think I'm good for now.

I think it's worth it, but you guys have to make up your own mind. For the money it was a great upgrade for me. *** If anyone has Daylight Running Lamps (mandatory where I live), these function properly.***

Does that KC H4 headlight upgrade use a new harness and relay or does it have an adapter to plug into the stock headlight plug?

Adapter harness, plugs into the existing one. Here's a write-up if you want to try it, Plug & Play:

KC 5" fogs + KC H4 low beams
