LED bar on front bumper or bull bar.

Looking for mounting ideas for LED bars on the front bumper or bull bar. I have a Smittybilt M.O.D. bumper but any pics of 12 or 20" LED bars mounted would be cool.

Thanks!

Not sure about mounting....I'm still trying to figure that one out on my Rubi. I think I'm going to mount two on the bumper. But check out Feniex.com. they're generation 5 LEDs I believe and bright as he$%. Titan series... Just my .02. Good luck.

Here is a rigid 20" (covered) on the AEV premium bumper. I needed to have mounts fabricated to line up with the mounting holes. It sits behind the bar for protection and just above the winch. Lots of forward light out of it and I like that it doesn't cover the radiator as much as 6" round lights to allow for better cooling.

Cool. I will check em out. Do you use it as your fog lamps at all or is it strictly for off-roading?

I've seen this one which could work for me but I'm not sure what's involved yet.

I have been seeing more and more if these light bars. Anyone using then as dog/driving lights in place of the factory fogs? Can they be hooked up using the factory fog wiring?

Off-roading.....20" is a lot for fog lamps, even if I had them aiming down.

Yes, the u-clamps under the bar is a great idea. As for on-road use, no way could you use the 20" or even the D2's. The vision-x fogs I have are really bright by themselves.

Heck, one of the reasons I keep mine covered is to resist the temptation of using them while on-road. Off road, they make it like daylight on the trails at night.

Thanks! This looks good. Anything special I need to buy to attach it to the bumper? Also, did you wire it to the stock fog switch?

No, he's got everything hooked up to a SPOD with custom switches. Look here http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/mat...ld-160398.html

I picked up my 22", 5000 lumans light bar from truckandwinch for $250 including harness. Very bright. The mounting tabs on the spyder bumper(with winch mount $250 form same place) is 10" apart. The light came with mounting brackets but they were 22.5" apart so I had to make my own mounting bracket. Eazy. The winch is a Recon waterproof 10,500 lb ( $400 same site) First picture of the light is low beams, second picture is high beams, third picture is led lightbar.

My roller fairlead came with mounting holes in it for off-road lights. I'm planning a set of black box logistics 5" on the a-pillars and then a light bar on the fairlead.

Scratchkenny, how did you make your own mounting bracket? i am ordering same bumper and have same light bar, and just realized it wont work with the light tab being so close.

I've thought about buying an led bar but I would hate to destroy one with a stray tree branch or something ($$$)... anyone ever had problems with that/found a safe place to mount one?

What is that bracket you are using to mount the D2's on your windshield? Haven't seen that one before...

I had a piece of flat bar laying around so i used that. I just messured the distance of the outside mounts on the lights, cut flat bar, messured the distance of the taps on the bumper, drilled em, plasi-dip em. Cheap and eazy

Here is a 10" on a poison spider fairlead mount.

I use it for lighting up the immediate area (50' or so) in front of the Jeep and about 25 feet to each side. Coupled with my spot 50" and my D2s on the pillars, I have my own personal sun.
