LED Light Bar Roof Mounting

Hi there..

New to this site. I was wondering if someone wouldn't mind helping me solve a problem I have been researching for days. I purchased a 50" Dual row LED Light bar for my 2012 Sahara Unlimited. I want to mount this light to my roof, right above the windshield. However, I DO NOT like the mounts that I have seen where they go up all along the side of the windshield. Any suggestions?? I saw a picture where the light was mounted to the top of the jeep, but required drilling a few holes, which I am fine with doing. Please help me in any way!

Thanks guys!

Those mounts that go all the way up the windshield serve a couple purposes.....the quality ones are 3/16" steel, so they act as protection for your windshield frame and windshield. They also function as a mount more solid than the brackets that come with the light bars themselves.
Drilling into the thin sheetmetal of the windshield frame is just asking for trouble on the trails. Even if you used nutserts to mount it, the sheetmetal is not going to be strong enough to keep that light in place after a good whack from a tree limb.

You can always paint the brackets to match your body color if you want them to blend in.

Nutserts! I hate nutserts!
The mounting bracket should also add a little strength to the A pillar in case of a rollover.

I don't do any type of off roading where there are trees and brushes rubbing up or against my jeep- mostly just mudding and I mainly want to light for looks. Here's a photo I found but can not find anything like these online for sale. Any help? Thanks!

I've been curious about this too, as my concern is salt and crap getting caught behind the ones that go all the way up the pillar. Subbing to see what comes of this

That's a hinge that can be bought at Tractor Supply, Lowes or just about any hardware store.

What TXST8tj stated is correct. Thin sheet metal and this type of mount is not a good way to go. If you're concerned about stuff behind the mount, the HMF Fabrication mount has holes in the side of it that allow it to easily be cleaned out.
