That have some 4" round ones out now with an outer ring of clear led for backup. That are nice around 60 bucks a set

I'll let everyone know when I install the new ones again. Should be here tomorrow.
Thats strange I've got Recon's and ICPW's and no resistors and no issues. But I've heard of flickering issues with LED headlights too and I've had no issues there either.

Irishbaja....are you using any resisters with yours or just the addition of the lights to the factory system???

It sounds like it might pay to order through a larger vendor even if it costs a little more to ensure they cover defects if they appear.

I have found then as cheap as $282 from autoanything.com to $320 from Quadratec and Carid.com

NDatec and Carid.com
Mopar light guards. No resistors. Plug and play. I bought mine from autoanything.com Either way unless you buy from a big supplier like QT they'll tell you to go back to manufacturer. The plugs from OEM harness plug right into light harness just make sure you have black to black on the harnesses otherwise they won't work correctly.

The resistor may be internally housed. As far as the size of the light itself, it has the same footprint as stock. It doesn't protrude more than stock with the exception of the side where there is a reflector/side light. I'll take a shot of it and post. If the taillight guard has an open sided design it would fit. If it is closed there might be some fitment issues. I'd say the reflector extents about 3mm-4mm.
sorry to hijack thread, i tried to pm u

i was wondering, which resisters did you put on the recons, were they easy to install? did you do the front and the side markers or just the front?

Well I received the new set of lights and installed them and wait for it, wait for it.......the message is gone. No more hyper flashing. That means the right side was indeed faulty. No resistors needed for these taillights.

I got my IPCW LED tail lights in today and they are suppose to be plug and play. Not sure how that is going to work since there are blade connectors on the tail lights and about a 5 pin connector on the Jeep. Any suggestions???

You have to pull out the bulb from the stock harness. The wedge shaped connector on the IPCW then slides into the harness. There is absolutely no cutting or splicing required. If you are cutting you are installing it incorrectly.

Are these LED tail lights proving to be good quality/durable? Are there flicker/signal problems?

They are excellent quality. No flickering or hyper flashing other than my defective light.

From what I can tell about the black it looks different depending on the lighting. What I mean is the housing on the inside is black but the glass is clear. So sometimes depending on the angle you're looking at it and what's reflecting off of it it can look smoked or black. Kind of the best of both worlds.

I just installed my IPCW taillights and there's definitely a bank of resistors in them.

Jim

Has anyone used different screws for these lights? The basic phillips screws seem to easy to take off and steal. I mean even torx screws would be a slight advantage over the widely used phillips screws.

Looks like recon is now selling tail lights as well. Not sure if this is old news. Regardless, anybody have a review of these in comparison to the ipcw's?

Finally! I had recons on my Ram and really loved them. If I do buy the replacement tails, I'll buy the recons. I'll wait for a sale though
