Almost bought the IPCW lights awhile back until I started reading numerous reports of water getting inside them. Do the Recons have the same problem?

I don't think the Recon tails are available yet, eBay seller shows ship date of 3/1. I have seen a few complaints on Recon signal LED's, mostly flickering.

I'll take one for the team on the Recon tails. Just ordered them along with turns and fender lights. Recon wouldn't budge on the price and said they have a very limited number in stock, but that could be all smoke. I will report back.

Please do. I would like to know about the quality. I have their turn signals and I like them. Although I would rather the housing be smoked rather than the lens because it dims the light a bit.

I have the recon turn signals and fender lights and I love them. But just recently the turn signal has been blinking really fast making my tail light blink fast also.

Do you have resistors on the turn signals out front? I had to put one on each side but nothing in the rear and no hyper flashing.

No i do not. I thought the problem was the tail light so i put resistors on that. Not the turn signal

I think the tail lights have their own resistors because when I first installed the turns out front I had hyper flashing. I put the resistors and it went away. Then I got tails and still no hyper flashing until one side went bad. I've gotten a new set and all is well.

Any truth to the newer versions of the turns and fender lights no longer needing resistors?

It's my understanding that anything that blinks or has high/low beams will still require resisters... but I could be wrong.

I wasn't aware of a newer version so I'm not sure on that. I do know the ones I have did not have resistors and I had to put them in.

Does anyone have these? They look like Recon's, but I'm guessing they are copies. $195

I had them for a while. They were nice, but kind of plain IMHO. I ended up selling them and getting the ipcw's. I like them more. But, that's just me.

How are they holding up? (sorry, if you posted this already, I must have messed it.)
I'm leaning towward the IPCWs myself, I like their looks better than the Recon's.

I got my Recons and I think they look awesome. They have yet to be installed due to my own issues but I will get pic and a report as soon as I get them on.

I also received the turns and fender lights but didn't order the resistors. I'm starting to think I should get some resistors before I even bother with the install.

Dude you're killing us here lol. Just kidding. Hope all is well. I personally like the IPCW but I want to hear your opinions on the Recons. You definitely need resistors for the turns because they will hyper flash. You can install both in 15mins tops unlessthe redesigned ones don't need it.

Well, I've had the IPCW tail lights for the past 3 weeks and love them. I also bought the matching brake light and it looks great as well. The tail lights have been through 2 car washes and rain/snow and have never fogged up. However, just ran the JKU through a quick car wash yesterday to get the salt off and low and behold, while the tail lights are fine, the brake light fogged up nicely with condensation. YMMV
Regards,
Jim

I had that setup. I still have the 3rd brake light because those bastards couldn't take that piece off without opening the gate. I'm waiting on wisco to post some pics so that I can see if I want to go with Recons or back to IPCW. If you haven't already you should get yourself some security screws. At $300 a pair these lights are becoming very popular with thieves. My fiance likes the Recons but I still like the IPCW. Decisions decisions.

Great, except for a little condensation during heavy rain. But, I think that's because I drilled holes in them for the rigid srm2 mounts.

GoRecon's only have 90 day warranty and their customer service totally sucks! I know from personal experience, twice! never again. Get the ipcw's. They're cheap on Amazon.

Thanks for the input. I contacted IPCW to ask them about a couple of things people have been complaining about (hyperflashing and condensation [other that with holes drilled]) and this is what I got back the next day:

Hello,

You don't need any additional resistors or LED flasher relay, however it never hurts to add it. The LED tail lamps have a resistor board to reduce any chances of hyper flash from occurring.

As for moisture, there are two kinds. One is water, which is an indication that the seals have fail and is allowing water to build up to the point that it slushes around in the lamp. The other kind is condensation, which occurs whenever there is temperature differences between the lamp's internal heat and the cooler atmosphere or vice versa. To minimize this from occurring, attention needs to be focused on the sockets. If your sockets were inserted and locked into the lamp, any moisture could enter due to a old gasket on the socket. We recommend replacing it with a new gasket or using a piece of foam from a hardware store that you can insert around the socket.

If there are any questions, let me know

I think I'm leaning towards the IPCW again. I like the unique pattern they have. And you don't need additional resistors.

Hope this isn't inappropriate but at least its on topic...I think.

Anyway, I need an OEM tail light assembly for the drivers side and wondered if any of you that upgraded to LEDs would care to sell me one. Drop me a PM if so and thanks.

FWIW, I do think the LED lights look pretty sweet but right now, I just want to replace the broken stock one I currently have.

I was looking to get LED tail lights and was eagerly reading this thread for options. I had pretty much decided on IPCWs until I got thinking about longevity.
There have been several times when I see a car or truck with LED lights with one or more bulbs burnt out. I don't want to have to spend $220 to replace my tail lights because of burnt out lights.
I decided to go a modular route: I bought Warrior steel tail light brackets for $95 and spend another $100 or so on the lights from my local truck stop. This way if I have a problem with a tail light, I just need to spend $22 and replace that one light.

Unfortunately you're going to be waiting a little longer. I was planning to install this weekend and after opening the box I noticed that they were the red smoked version instead of black. So right back in the box they went. Maybe next week.
