Sorry man. I did get the turns and fender lights installed. Those look great. As do the led dome lights. With everything else led the stock tails look that much worse. Doh!

Thanks. If you mean did I do the turns and fender lights at the same times then yes. If you mean did I mod the flares, them no, those are the painted stocks. If I'm completely missing your question, my bad.

Think he's asking if your fender markers blink as turn signals too, did you do that mod? These look great. Thanks for pics. Are you pleased with the lights? Was the install straight-forward? Any issues with them? Thanks!

Ahhhh. No I did not. I've had the lights installed for a week and love them. Nothing to dislike so far. Pat at fields had his guy do the install for me so I can't comment directly but the guy there said no issues.

Now I just need to get my hands on the proper tails and ill be set until I get some d2s for the currently cracked but lightless windshield.

Nice. And they look as good as I hoped, dammit! Man, in some ways I wish I was closer to Pat, but in others (that dang Chi-town cold), I'm glad I'm not! I've already settled on the smoked IPCW tails, but have been eyeing these Recons. Heck my 10A Jeep still hasn't been built, and the pile of mods keeps growing and my wallet keeps getting lighter. Oh well, I may be poor, but the Jeep will be rich!

Yeah I was referring to the fender flares blinking with the turn signals. I'm getting Rock Slide Step Sliders put on on Friday coming and I'll just have the shop do my JW Speaker fogs and the Recon fender flare/blinker mod while the Jeep is there.

Its very easy. Absolutely no cutting or splicing. After removing the stock taillight, pull out the stock bulb from the harness. The wedge-shaped harness on the IPCW slides into where the bulb was on the taillight assembly. Just test to make sure you have the polarity correct. If you plug it in and get no light simply flip the IPCW harness around. And do the same for the reverse light. Oh and since you don't want to end up like me, I suggest even before installing the light, get yourself some tamper resistant screws. These lights are very expensive and popular so you'd want to protect them.

Is $224 a good price for these lights? And will my rugged ridge tail light guards fit?

Sorry it took so long for me to install these recon led tails. When I Finally got the chance they were a breeze and totally plug and play as far as I can tell at this point.

Sweet. Now I'm torn again lol. Any hyper flashing? Also in the reverse light active pic is it only 1 bank of lights on? Maybe the taillight guard is blocking the lower bank in the pic. I hope you got you some security screws in their too. Back to the decision board I go.

No hyper flash and despite what it looks like in the picture, all 4 rows of white LEDs light up on reverse. I haven't had a chance to see how bright they are on a dark road. Too many street lights by the house.

Nice. Thanks for posting the pics but no thanks for confusing me again lol. My fiance likes these better than the IPCW. I just may give them a shot.

Recon is having a 15% Memorial Day sale this weekend and I was thinking about picking these up over the smoked IPCW tails, but I was wondering if anybody had any pics of them put on (without the tail guards)? Thanks!

I bought the Pilot tail lights 2 months ago, first pair hyper flashed, the second pair they sent me (month later) hyper-flashes for 15 seconds, then returns to normal, and threw me error messages. This is on a 12' JKU.

I bought the Recon tail lights yesterday, with memorial day sale it was the best price I could get w/ 15% off.

There have been several times when I see a car or truck with LED lights with one or more bulbs burnt out. I don't want to have to spend $220 to replace my tail lights because of burnt out lights.
I decided to go a modular route: I bought Warrior steel tail light brackets for $95 and spend another $100 or so on the lights from my local truck stop. This way if I have a problem with a tail light, I just need to spend $22 and replace that one light.
What resistor value did you use and how did you wire them in? Thanks!!!

I thought I should add my experience to the mix so people can make an informed decision.

I ordered the Recon smoked LED rear lights and installed them a month ago. I immediately received a right turn signal error and the light would not work. I contacted Recon support to alert them of a defective light. They had me plug the right side into the left side as a test. The right light worked and so they told me it was a resistance issue. That is where my experience went south. Recon's only suggestion was to install resistors. They did not provide any additional recommendations or support. I purchased three different sets of resistors with no luck. I took the lights to professionals and they could not get it to work. I sent them back and was charged a restocking fee. I am not happy at all with my experience. However, I absolutely love the look of the Recons. I have IPCW's on order as a replacement and will shortly see if the resistance issue is EVIC or Recon related. I will update the group when I find out.

What year is your JK??? If I have to deal with this bullshit again I'll just refund them. They are already on backorder.

2013 - picked up the jeep 5/4 and I already had the Recon's in my garage so I installed 5/5. I did have an unusual experience with Recon which leads me to speculate that I received a defective unit/returned item. Specifically, I was called and told the Smoke LEDs were on back order but would I be interested in red. I said sure and then received the box to find out they sent a pair of smoke anyway (although the box was hand marked with the code for the red lights). I don't know how they miraculously came up with a smoked pair but the cynical side of me suspects it was a customer return that they just flipped to me. I would be cool with the refund but the 20% restocking fee is a bit confusing. I just don't want to deal with it again - it could be a new Jeep issue with the EVIC or it could be those lights or both - in any case they weren't the simple plug and play advertised for me. These Recon's are awesome lights when they work. I may have just been unlucky.

Received the IPCW and they work out of the box so it appears the Recon's I received were defective or otherwise incompatible with the 2013 and EVIC. Having installed both - I like the look of the Recon's more when the lights are on. I will probably put a tint on the IPCWs.

Which IPCW color did you get? I had the black before they got stolen.

I picked up the black but that only refers to the area around the LEDs. The lens is clear and appears to be clear for all models. I think the Recon lens was tinted because I couldn't see the LEDs if they weren't emitting light.
