lighting for the JK

hey guys, i just rejoined the jeep family and the first thing i wanna do is throw some lights on it. I wanna do a 50' light bar above the windshield but can't find any decent looking brackets. anyone got any ideas.. i also wanna do the hood light i think in a 30 or 21 inch? any thoughts… and any recommendations for reasonable priced brand lights and brackets?

I'm a fan of Lazer Star LED lights. In my opinion, you get what you pay for in this category. That being said, Lazer is competitive but not cheap... They will NOT fill with water or moisture on the first humid day or car wash... They use the top of the line Cree bulbs (yes, there are various levels in Cree) and they are bullet proof in construction. I run the 22" and 2x2's on my F-150 and have a 52" and 2x2's on order for the Jeep. They have new brackets for the upper and lower windshield, but they are not on their website yet. You will have to give them a call to see them. I got a great deal on them from Chux Trux in KC (think i spoke to Derrick). 816-373-8789. Dont be fooled by some of the experts that say "they are all the same or they all come from the same place"... Not true in the least...
Good luck-

My brother in law runs Plashlights on his airboat and hasn't had any issues. I figure if they can stand up to Florida swamp water, they should do pretty good on a jeep. Have to wait till the next round of mods before I can consider light though. Black Friday almost put me in the poor house!

Thanks for the input guys my other question is about lightbars... I'm looking at the delta light bar for the grill and bumper but I'm not sure if I would rather both of these or a 30" LED light bar?
This is the LED bar http://m.quadratec.com/products/prod...=97025+0414+07

And these are the delta ones http://m.quadratec.com/products/prod...d=12010+701+07

...2013 Rubicon Unlimited...

...conglomeration of some of my recent posts in LNDW...

...i am lighting up the front...

...actually have most of the electronics, and much of the non mechanical and non body stuff...

...makin myself crazy...but part of it is the documentation of what i have already done...or have and am ready to do...

...bought 19 Hella Rallye 4000 HID lights a couple of years back for $50.00'each...that's about 10 cents on the dollar...they are all brand new...in boxes...but they are close to 9 inches in diameter...4 are driving beams, and 5 are flood beams...the other 10 are long throw pencil beams...and i am gonna find a way to put all the red ringed devils on the front of the jeep...

...for sure dual batteries...genesis system tray with 200 amp isolator and 2 optima red tops ...and do have a 275 amp custom wound alternator ...

...some custom mounting risers and creativity...

...windshield hoop bar...2 rows...5 top, 4 bottom...that's 9.

...windshield base corner mounts...creative might get 4 more.

...front bumper bar... creative again...5.

...plus...have a delta front combo ground bar with 5 front face lights and 2 rock lights...

...so with the JW Speakers in the headlight spots and the delta replacements in the stock fog holes in the bumper...that should be 27 front lights...

...the delta bar puts a rock light in front of each front wheel...with my wild bore rear bumper...there is a beveled spot to cut a hole on each side to put one behind each rear wheel...also going to put some armored rock lights in front of each rear wheel and behind each front wheel...combo-ing the lights with a rock (snow drift in my case) camera...

...let there be light!

...building a circuit board with relays to sequentially start the HID's and be interruptable and/or selectable for all of the front lights...

...it might incorporate a second sPod...again creative switch mounting...and gotta find a hole in the engine compartment for the business end of a second sPod...

...and gonna have to do some creative kydex vacuum forming to make covers for all of those red ringed HID devils...

...they came with fabric covers...actually pretty crappy covers for a $500.00 light...sheesh...

...might have to start a build thread...but the lift is going to be mild...and the suspension pretty non-radical...i live in the flatlands...with snow...and deer...

Pretty much every bracket on the market is located here. We're also running a call in special where if you buy the 50" LED light bar, you get the HMF Fabrication mount for free. I think it's a very sharp looking product.
