Monster LED Light Bar Thread

Ok, there a ton of individual post on different LED light bars here. With bars form 4 inches all the way up to 50 plus there is just so much to consider. How about everyone put the Pros and Cons of their light bars here so everyone has a one stop shop to figure it out on what bar to get.
Make, Size, cost, number of LEDs, total lumens, what issues did you have, where did you mount them and whatever else you think someone might need to know before they make the plunge.

I would like to hear peoples reviews. I've been lookin at lightbars. i'd like to hear what the pro's and con's of above the windshield and on a bulbar. I wonder if the high mount is difficult to drive on the road if needed. also there are three different windshield frame mounts for the 50" bar. anybody had trouble with any of them?

So far I have been looking at vendors like LED Shop of Texas and Inspired Engineering and they have been full of good info. Another source I have found besides eBay and Amazon is LifeTime LED and Rock Ridge 4WD. All have decent prices that won’t break the bank. Warranties vary from one year to life time. Of course a life time is only as good as the life time of the vendor. With the LED light market still in flux the players are still evolving. Ridged seems to be the driving pioneer but their pricing still puts LEDs out of the reach of wallet tight consumers with a 50" bar coming in at $1500+ and an Engo unit is around $700 and there are still some that are less. Amazon and eBay have some really low priced ones coming at $300 to $400 but quality is a question as they are no name Chinese knock offs. Still trying to figure out if a light bar mounted at the top of the windshield needs to be IP68 or if IP67 is suitable for that location. I know IP68 can be fully submerged continuously to 3 meters and stay water tight were as IP67 is only good for 30 minutes at 3 meters. Both are dust proof. I think if the top of my windshield is at a depth of 3 meters I have bigger problems than if my light bar will leak.

Please add whatever other data and info you have found in your quest for a LED light bar.

Figured I put my LED light bar info here (originally on the Rubicon X Thread).
I mounted mine on the front bumper because of ease of mounting (uses factory holes already in the Rubi X bumper), and less glare. Because of this, I didn't want to put a high $$$ name brand to possibly get taken out by rocks.

I chose the eBay Chinese knockoff, 20" Cree LED spot/flood combo for $137. I did purposely choose a US seller. When received, I was extremely impressed with overall quality and light output. Absolutely no regret. Very solid just doesn't feel or look "Chineesy" You will need to add whats needed as far as wiring. I picked up a rocker switch, relay, in-line fuse, wire, split loom at the local parts store.

Info from the item description on ebay:
Warranty: 2Years
Made of high quality Diecast Aluminum Housing
Waterproof, dustproof, quakeproof, Anti explosion
Glass surface is made of Quart Lens, with high light transmission
SPECIFICATIONS:
Power: 126W -(8820LM ) up to 12600LM
Operating Voltage: DC 9~32V
42pcs*3w CREE high intensity LEDs
Color temperature: 6000K
Waterproof: IP 68
Material: Diecast aluminum housing
Lens Material: Toughed glass
Mounting Bracket: 150 Degree Adjustable Trunnion Bracket Mount
Beam: Flood(60 degree) & Spot(30 degree) combo
Size: 20 inch
50,000 hours above life time

Link to the actual light I purchased = 20inch 126W CREE LED Work Light Bar 8820LM Flood Lamp 4WD Driving Offroad Lights | eBay

Here are the pics:

Getting it mounted, used factory Rubi X bumper holes, no separate brackets needed:

Mounted, wired and powered up:

Stock headlights only, low beam:

20" bumper mounted LED light bar only:

Both light bar and low beam headlights:

Again, I am extremely satisfied and this light exceeded my expectations. Time will tell as far as life longevity.

No RF issues. I just put it on this week. The light output is crazy bright on these things, I learned real quick not to stand in front and look at it.

Light Bars

I sell Rigid Light bars and these are the Chinese knockoffs. I have put the two next to one another. Wish I took a picture. The Rigid is put together in the US but parts are made over sea's. For the price difference I'm not unhappy! And CREE is a US company and The Chinese are claiming they're using them and I believe its Bull Sh@t.

LED Shop of Texas is in Houston and claims they assemple some of the lights there and some come from China but insists all his LED chips are CREE.

These are the backup 6 LED flush mount cubes. They light up the rear nicely. Waiting on the mounting braket for the 50" bar. When they come in I will get some night shots of all the lights.

Hi Autosports: Very nice rig.

All: I like this thread and will review periodically as I am looking to make a purchase of a 50" windshield mount light bar.

CREE is right here in Raleigh, the heart of North Carolina. Even though the end product is made in China is it the LED bulbs that are designed here in the USA?

Here is the small 14" 72 Watts LED bar from eBay. I am still waiting on my mounts for the 50". I got the 14" bar on eBay because I wanted to test it out and see how well it did and since it is right up front didn't want to spend big or bigger $$$ on it. The other thing is since it is low it can be easily stolen. Who wants to steal a Chinese knock off? Works great and adds just enough light when on dark roads. It has been through a few car washes and heavy rains and no leakage or fogging. Have not submerged it yet and really donít want to until I get my snorkel.
