New KC LED headlights

Just put in the new led headlights offered by KC and i must say that I'm very impressed! The best feature about them could possibly be that they come with an anti flicker harness in the H4 to H13 adapter unlike the other brands! The low beams are amazing and crisp and the high beams are ever-reaching. The only problem is that they have is a "hotspot" in the middle of the low and high beam patterns. Other than that spot (which doesn't bother me at all) they are awesome! Feel free to ask questions or post your experiences with them if you have them!

Look like Trucklites, but a tad pricier. Do you like them?

Yeah i really like them! They have a different reflector design its based more on smaller squares than long rectangles like the truck-lites if that makes sense. I like the pattern much better than the truck-lites in a side by side comparison with my friends jeep.

Interesting. Toss up a picture tomorrow during the day from the front! One of the things I like about the TL's is that they have a dark/smokey look during the day.

-Edit-
Did you put on your fog lights for the high beam picture, or are the HB's lighting up the ground too?

I sure will, they do have a smoked look to them. Nope they are just the HBs they compensate for the fact that the factory harness turns off the fogs when the HB are turned on. Plus my fogs aren't even hooked up right now lol.

IDK, but I'd like to see how the stack up against the TL & JW's. A search for 7" led hl's showed 3 other led hl's I've never seen before, more led choices in the future.

hello bndry from williamsburg, va. love your jk. getting ready to order the kc leds for my 11 jk 2dr. questions: how do they fit in the jk? heard the trucklites are loose fitting in the jk. do they come with instructions for the install? what about flickering? thanks for posting the pics, they look awesome in your jk. also, is your front bumper from a 14 rubi? how much does it weight and did it effect your lift. ebay is selling a f & r new take off with a starting bid of $ 2100. seems kind of steep, but i really like them. thanks so much, terry walton

Thanks for the complements! The lights fit really well actually. They didn't come with instructions for installation but it's pretty straightforward. You just take off the grill and then remove the 4 screws holding the light in and disconnect it. Then you plug up the new light and use the stock chrome retainer ring and line up the lights with the holes and alignment tabs and screw it in. The install took maybe 30 min at most. After you get the grill on you will need to adjust the headlights with a T15 torx screwdriver. They don't flicker at all because they have an anti flicker built in to the wiring that comes with them. I'd definitely buy the lights again if I had to.

My bumper is from a 2013 10th anniversary rubi but they are the same as the 2014 rubi X bumpers and I love them! They are not that heavy and I put them on by myself and they didn't make my lift sag any. Honestly I would pass on those bumpers on eBay, I got mine (front, rear, skid plate, fogs, and tow hooks) from someone on the forum for less than half of that price. It took me a while to find some and secure them but in the end it was worth not overpaying for them. Just be patient and check this forum and some of the other forum's for sale sections for them and you will get a much better deal. Hope that helps and answers all of your questions.

Not that this is important or anything but it was foggy and raining this morning and I thought it was cool that you could see the beam pattern.

Thanks for this write up. Now that my Lifetime Led H13 lights are gone, this is making me lean more towards the KC's.

Does the snow block the headlight in the winter?

Normal bulbs generate quite a bit of heat and melt the snow away when driving in snow.

Is there any reason these won't fit a TJ? I know that advertised as being for JK's but every other 7" round headlight like the Trucklites and the Speakers fit both.

I don't see why they wouldn't. Ive seen them on motorcycles before. Give KC a call and they will be able to tell you definitively.
