New LED Fog Light Bulbs - Questions?

A friend of mine called me this weekend because he had some new LED replacement bulbs for me to try out. I must admit that I don't know much about them and really wasn't in the market for new bulbs, but he gave me a pair to try. They fit in the stock fog lights and plugged right into the stock wiring harness. These bulbs are considerably brighter and more white looking that the incandescent OEM bulbs and they look pretty cool. I asked him how much and he said they are not available here in the states yet but he is thinking of importing them. They are made in South Korea and look to be very high quality, have no flicker and do not cause the Canbus to register an error code. Would something like this be a viable product and should I be asking him for some Headlight replacement bulbs too. My headlights are very dim in comparison.

Just looking for some opinions of what these are worth and are they even a viable product?

I see these over heating very quickly much like most cheap led replacement bulbs. There is not enough Cooling there to keep the led cool. Also the led is probably over driven to be that bright.

So is it dangerous to use these? Will it start my jeep on fire?

I used them for a couple hours straight the other night with no problems. What is a reasonable amount of time they should run before over heating? 3 hours? 6 hours?

What is a high quality replacement bulb I can look at to compare them to?

It will not cause fire anymore then a regular bulb. The die will just fry and the light will go out. Time could be anywhere from a week to a few year hard to tell.

Don't have a jk so can't recommend anything. If you don't use them on road you could go hid though.

I always thought fogs were supposed to be a low, wide light? Seems manufacturers don't know this anymore...
