New lift kit question

So I just got my 2.5 lift kit for a 2007 jeep Sahara unlimited 4 door. It says on the instructions that the draglink must be adjusted to center the steering wheel . I think I know how to go that but do I need a whole front end alignment? If do do they adjust the draglink when they do that ? Next it says I may experience rubbing between the front drive shaft and the automatic transmission pan. Had anyone else had this problem? Is it just during extreme articulation or all the time? There fix was an aftermarket drive shaft which if course they sell! Thanks for the help

First, this is the lighting section of the forum. That's why you haven't got any hits.

Second, you can adjust your draglink easily yourself...but only if your steering wheel is off-center, which shouldn't be the case with a 2.5" lift.

As for an alignment, drive your Jeep after the lift install and see. Sometimes you need one, sometimes you don't. A lot of how it drives will depend on your caster...the relative angle of your steering column to your front driveshaft. And your caster can be adjusted only if you have adjustable control arms, which may or may not have been included in your lift.

As far as the whole front driveshaft thing goes, a general rule of thumb:

If your lift has shocks that are 25" or more (which is the vast majority of lifts), you'll need either a new front ds (+/- $500, without install), or something like the TeraFlex exhaust spacers ($50), in order to insure your ds doesn't hit the bend in your exhaust pipe if you disconnect your front swaybars offroad, and get into some max flex. This is only the case with year-models 2012 and up, however.

There are a lot of other considerations, of course, but those are the basics.

And I see now that you have a 2007, so disregard the whole ds/exhaust spacer thing. You shouldn't need to mess with the ds unless you're going bigger than a 3" lift.
