relay question..aux back up lights

I dug through this forum and couldn't get a clear answer.
I'm hooking up lights to be triggered by the reverse lights and a switch I have installed already.

From what I understand so far (please correct if wrong)
If I was doing switch only:
pin 30 to battery
85 to ground
86 to dash switch
87 to lights

Can I add another trigger (the back up light source wire) to the 5 pin relay to enable lights to go on from either source? I don't think I can unless I change out the dash switch to a dpdt.

Thanks

found a wiring diagram on another forum..going to forget about having the back up lights trigger the aux lights (don't need them in daytime). Just going to use parking lights to ensure I don't leave the switch "on" and kill my battery.

Tap off of the parking lights for the switch. And you can run both switch and reverse trigger wires to the same point on the relay.

Both go to the same pin on the relay?
Thanks for the input.

Kind of. You'll probably need a diode or 2nd relay to prevent your switch power from turning your reverse lights

Here's how I'd do it if I wasn't going to use a diode. It's a little overkill but someone who doesn't want to mess with diodes might choose this. If there is an easier way, I'm all ears (eyes).

Thanks for the diagram...easy to follow. So far that's the only way that makes sense for two "triggers". I'm doing this project over the weekend (have extra relays if needed). I'll let you know how I make out.

Can anyone help me? My right signal light is not working. It goes on and off but when I'm gonna turn it doesn't work.
