Replacing stock headlights and fog on 14'

What is the best fog light bulb that does not have to be modded at all and can fit in the original housing? and for headlights, i see a lot of people with trucklites, how hard are they to install and is their an easier solution besides sylvania bulbs? I used to own a TJ and it was a pain in the ass to replace the headlights and they always came out un-aligned .

Changing out the headlights on a new jk is very simple. There are a couple of you tube videos that I will be referencing when I do my retrofit.

HIDprojectors (IIRC) sells a sealed beam HID projector kit. Runs along the price range of trucklites. IMO, HID has better light output than LED.

Also, there is a company that sells projector fog lights that bolt into the OEM housing. Spyder? Comes with halos. I may go that route after I complete my headlight setup.

Having just installed Truck-Lites last night in my new 14 JKU its easy

there are six plastic pin thingys along the top of the grille (use a small flat blade screwdriver to pop the center of them out) and 4 body panel clips at the bottom - then disconnect the turn signals (I twisted the bulbs out) and put the grill off to the side. There are 4 torx bits per headlight to remove the stock ones - slide the metal trim ring off the old ones and put on the new. Way easy to do.

I've got a pair of Vision X LED foglights to install as well but haven't gotten that ambitious yet

I put JW Speaker LED headlights and fogs on my 2014 Rubicon X. The headlights are the 8700 Evolution LED ones. For the fogs I originally purchased the 6145's however they don't plug-and-play fit in the Rubicon X/10A bumper so I ended up going with the 6045's which fit up nice. They aren't as bright however are fine for me.

Used TL adapter to eliminate the flicker on the headlights and bought the TLG adapter for the fogs since I didn't want to splice the wiring.

do you need anything special for the trucklite besides the harness it comes with? or its just a simple plug and play? When i say anything else i mean like no bigger battery and special wiring that has to be done?

Be careful if you modify your lighting with anything other than replacement bulbs that are the same wattage as the originals. If you have any electrical problems later which would otherwise be covered under warranty the dealer is liable to void your warranty, saying that the aftermarket components overloaded the system that it was designed for.

No worries on the truck-lites as they actually use less power than the OEM. That's the beauty of LEDs! I have them on my JK and love them.
