Win a set of JWS HERE

And I should point out also that Trucklite donated a pair of lights for the charity auction that SOLAROS has every year to raise money for Habitat for Humanity in north Georgia!
Read about SAE here --- an annual gathering of rigs, mostly Land Rovers, to wheel, cook, auction, swap. It's fun and I'll be there again this year.

Many thanks to both JWS and Trucklite for thinking of us!

Thanks for pointing out the contest, but it requires facebook. Part of my personal value system involves never using facebook, so I will have to get my lights the old fashioned way!

Has anyone here used D2s with the poison spyder bumper light mounts.
JK Fog Light Muonts for Rigid Industries Dually/D2 | Jeep LED Lighting | Poison Spyder

My question is whether you would still be able to mount an amber cover on these to attempt to use them as fog lights?

I feel dirty enough using these forums....

Otherwise, it was nice to have no flicker tonight at all . But now it appears I need to re-aim my headlights. The stealership does it for 25$ I may just take em up on it hahah
I wonder if dealers actually spend the money to have the aiming equipment?

i have these brackets. you could do it...it would require modification though

the bracket faceplate mounts to the front of the lamp using the two middle screws on the lamp. you would have to snap on the amber cover....mark it...and drill a small hole on both sides for the allen bolt to pass. this would also require sourcing longer allen bolts to mount the faceplate. the rear bracket that mounts the light into the fog light cutout would be unaffected. hope this helps.

I was thinking out loud. LOL I have used the method listed on Daniel Stern's website. Works very well, but I currently don't have access to a location where I can re-adjust mine since I lifted. His website also mentioned an aiming device so I was wondering if dealers bother to invest in it?

Question Tactical Lights

I'm looking for tactical red lights to replace the stock fog lights on the 2013 Rubicon that I'm ordering, where in the secondary market can I get this and which ones are the best?

Thanks.

Rigid Industries makes a red light. "Dually". There are aftermarket brackets that you can use to mount the dually to the stock fog location.

Please forgive my ignorance, but what is the purpose of a red auxiliary light?

Check the New York state law on this, often red is reserved for emergency vehicles only. If so, off road only.

only for off road use, don't look like police lights - think red lens on a flash light - i'm looking for a red light bulb to replace the stock fog light, nothing more - i mean if it's illegal i'll get a a dark blue or yellow bulb, same effect - tactical light

In that case you might as well replace the foglights since they use a new fangled bulb that AFAIK isnt available in blue or yellow.

Thought I read this but can't find it: for direct bulb swap, European Philips are better than American (which are just coated)? If so, model number and where to buy?

Thanks!

This price seems too good to be true for Truck Lite lights, anything else I need besides the wiring adapter?

Quadratec is a supporting vendor. I spend a decent amount of time here and figure that my money can go there since they Price Match and offr free shipping. So I pay the same price, Quadratec gets a sale from their being here.

why does the harness cost $160? is it because it is the only good option out there right now? it seems like an insane price for a wiring harness. i want these lights but i refuse to pay the extra $160...lol

Oops, I would be interested in primarily the headlight bulbs. I don't really wanna hassle with changing anything else, since I almost never drive at night and, honestly, I'm not all that disappointed with the factory set. I wouldn't mind just a tad brighter, though.

The price of the harness does seem a bit steep until you consider:
1) Custom built by hand using quality components.
2) Designed to be plug and play.
3) Includes relays (with capacitors) and heat resistant connectors.
4) Provides constant 12V power to the headlights versus the constantly fluctuating stock PWM voltage.

But you could always build your own.

I don't know if the Silverstars have a coating but they are made by Sylvania. Philips makes the Xtreme Power bulbs and is a global company with facilities in the U.S., Europe, and elsewhere in the world.

From what I learned from the lighting experts on here, avoid Silverstars with a passion. LOL

Yea, the harness was worth the 160.00 its made by hand, its a independent business, it had everything I needed for plug n play and the parts looked to be of very high quality. I mean, it was moose taillight guards or flicker be gone. I'm glad I talked to ray on the phone, he was very nice & knowledgeable and appreciative of my business.
