I cannot do the passenger side unless I remove the grille. I can't get my hand down there to get the dongle out of the reflector. (There's a layup for the dirty minded among us).

Nice. The question is do they perform better than the Cibies? Just need a volunteer who has done it to speak up...

Define "better".

On the one hand, the Cibies have a better overall spread of light, spectrum of light, ....just about everything is better, in fact, except part of the highbeam.
But you have to change bulbs with them. No getting away from that.

The beauty of the Trucklites are:
1) good amount of light
2) never a bulb change
3) very decent highbeams
4) very low power demands

Passenger side is easy: remove one bolt and move the power steering reservoir out of the way. Wide open. On driver's side remove one nut and move the horn out of the way. If I can get my fat finger hands in there anyone can.

That just about sums it up. The "never change a bulb" feature is enticing but I didn't want to be underwhelmed when turning on the LEDs after having the Cibies in for the last year.

Interesting...I'll give this a shot next time. Thanks!

I noticed these are sold with and without the complex reflector optics. Does this add anything performance wise or is it strictly aesthetic? Thanks.

I believe the ones with the complex reflector optics were the Phase 6 and you don't want those.

Thanks. I just realize jw speakers is a local Wisconsin brand. I might have to take a deeper look there. Although the series 7 / dually package from north ridge seems like a good deal. Sounds like it comes with a harness as well.

They're very good lights but they'll work better without those prison bars in front of them...

I hear ya. I had those light guards on with my stock lights. Regret that I have the holes from drilling the mounts for those bars, so I kept them on after installing the Speaker lights.

That's my lack of computer skills at work. Tried to compress the photo to minimize space. That's the end product. Once I saw my blunder, I tried to delete the picture, but wasn't able to.

That's for ONE headlight only. I believe I paid around $600 total for the lamp kit from Quadratec (2 lamps and 2 wiring adapters) AND the wiring harness from Rallylights.

So this thread has become extremely cluttered and I cant sit here and read anymore pages so here is my question...

What HID bulb number can I buy to put in my 2012 factory fogs?

I'm going to get a Bi-xenon kit for my headlights because I drive to work in the dark and I cant see (no surprise there thanks to the crap output of the OE bulbs)

I've seen a few JK's around here running HID's in the fogs but I can never talk to the owner, And I can't find a straight answer on any forum or even google...

If anyone can help please post up!

Go to SMS (rallylights.com) click on the Wrangler box. You can pick from 3. Bi-Halogen, Bi-LED, Bi- Xenon. Bi-Xenon will give the most light. Check Hilldewelder's lighting shoot out for his rating of the lights.

The Phillips H13 9008's are in by cart on Amazon. I'll just roll with those for until the Jeep gets closer.

The wife is starting to get a bit...ummmm.....chirpy with all the mods ($$$).

I got the funny look when I was going through ohm/impedance material for a new sub.....and I just got the "Doesn't it already come with headlights?" just now....

How about this sales pitch? "Yes Dear, it already comes with headlights, but they only meet minimum safety standards. These headlights provide more light so it would be more safer for YOU to drive at night".

They work as foglights. If you were to put in a rebased HID capsule, they wouldn't.

A good headlamp will mitigate the perceived need for running fogs during most situations.

Hildweller; Back to JW Speaker headlights; I had a terrible strobe light flickering the first day after installation. It was so bad, I thought the guy in the car in front of me was going to get out and say something, because it looked like I was flicking my lights at him (NO exaggeration). It was noticeably less this morning, and eventually reduced to hardly noticeable while driving today. Is this common? Per your recommendation, I contacted Ray and he's sending me his harness. I'm just curious if you've heard of the flickering problem resolving itself?

I spoke to JW speaker this week and they said there was an upgrade to the 8700 evolution mid august and they are now truly plug and play with no need for an additional harness. Any truth to this one?

Based on mine, the answer is no. I'll say this though; I drove it to dinner last night. Driving home, I didn't experience any noticeable flicker. I'm confused as to what's going on now. Should I return the harness, when I receive it or go ahead and install it? $170 plus w/shipping is steep in addition to the price of the lights.

Did you notice a date on the speakers themselves?
