I was told to look for August 17th or later.

You need the Phase 7 Trucklites. Vast improvement over the Phase 6.

It is normal for the Phase 6. I had the opportunity to try a set of Phase 6s on my last Jeep.
Same result as you.

Yes. Normal for them.

See THIS. I start the testing with a set of Phase 6 lights.

The best you can say about them is that they're tough. My test units live in a TJ now and the owner is happy with them. For a dedicated trail rig that sees hardcore action, they're perfect.
But I wouldn't want them in a daily driver.

Just finished installing trucklite phase-7, really happy that I did not have to remove my AEV bumper to do it!
The high beam however on one of the lights just flashes on and then the light goes off completely (both low and High beam) the other light is fine. anybody has had this experience or knows what is going on? I am guessing it must be a defective light and will send it back to Quad….
I remember reading about adding a protective film to these lights cause they scratch very easily. Where is the best place to purchase this film?

The film protects from scratches ---- but robs you of light. It looks clear but isn't really. You'll lose about 20% of your light with it.
Now is that worth it? I guess it is if you know you're going to thrash them...

As far as the light blinking off, what kind of adapter are you using? If they're just the el-cheapo pigtails, swap them side to side and see if the problem follows the adapter.
If it's a full SMS harness, swap the lights side to side and see if the problem follows the light.

Thanks for the tip, wiscosolid. Best info I've gotten on the forum, regarding the JW Speaker lights. I called JW Speaker this morning. and will be swapping out the lights with the newer dated ones tomorrow. Thanks, again.

Glad I could help. Where did you find the best price for these in the first place? I see 770 for the pair on ok4wd.com.

I bought mine locally at High Country Performance 4x4. $790. No shipping. Works out easier since I'll be swapping out tomorrow. I had ordered the harness from Rally Lights, but if these newer version lights work, I'll get my $$ back from Rally Lights.

Just installed my phase 7 trucklites with a straight h13 to h4 adapter. I see very little flicker. I will try to get a video of it so people can see it and make their own decisions. It would be interesting to email trucklite to get their opinion on this. In general, leds are designed to be cycled very rapidly, and that is the typical implementation to pulse modulate the led itself. However, I can understand that depending on the implementation of the driver circuit it may be stressing the voltage regulation / driver circuit, so I would love to hear from them whether they think it will affect the reliability. From my view, in my jeep, that is the only reason that I would choose to put a different harness in to eliminate the flicker. The flicker itself doesn't bother me enough to warrant it so far.

Overall, they are way better than stock. I've only done short drives, and they do a great job lighting up the sides of the road. On high beam they do a great job dead ahead as well. Still trying to decide if I want to go up another step or two in the chain as the little xs are a little annoying in some cases, and you can't go wrong with more light

Today, on my way to the 4x4 shop(it was still dark), the flicker was so extreme that it was reflecting off of the overhead street signs on the highway, at least 200 yards away. I could see drivers in cars ahead of me adjusting their rear-view mirrors to avoid my strobe lights. It was ridiculous, and embarrassing. This was no minor flicker. They swapped out the lights for the newer dated ones. We'll see tonight when I take if for an after dark spin.

Good Lord, I hope so.
Besides, the LED lights are properly marked and you could provide documentation from the manufacturer that they're in compliance. Trucklite and JWS would back you up if a Authority gave you any guff.

JWS has properly marked their lights with appropriate DOT embossing to show that they've built them to DOT specifications and that they are in compliance with FMVSS-108. This means that they've had them tested and assayed and any Authority in the US should like them when properly mounted.
Same for the Trucklites and any lights that are worth a dang.

If this has already been discussed in this thread I apologize, but I'm looking for real world input on the Vision X LED foglights. Viewed a couple Youtube video's and they appear to be a quality product with a lifetime warranty, but lifetime only is how long the business is in business. If someone could help me out on this I'd appreciate input. Looking for something that lights the area of the road that my Truck Lite LED's don't.

Looking to upgrade the awful back up lights on my 11 JKU. So far I have looked at:

1) Getting Dually diffused and a set of BDF tail light mounts.
Not 100% sold on this look yet.

2) Getting Dually diffused flush mounted and mounting them into the tail light (like DarkFire did)
Love this option but not sure I want to cut into my tail lights just in case I screw it up

3) Getting LED lights from V-Leds (6K WHITE LED 7W BACK-UP LIGHT BULBS CREE XR-E Q5 3156 | 1 PAIR)
The cheapest option and plug and play but not sure how much light LEDs will project onto the ground.

Can you guys give any recommendations on those 3 or any newer ideas on how to get brighter back up lighting? I was also thinking about a light bar on the back roof similar to the ones they sell for the front but I can't find any.

I like the LED bulbs just because they are the cheapest option but I have a feeling they might be the worst option too.

I like what DarkFire did so I would lean towards option 2.
What are BDF taillight mounts?
