For whatever reason DFS is way lower than anyone on the JW 6045. On the headlight decision, I recommend digging up Hilldwellers headlight shootout(not the recent one on j k owners). JMO.

I was leaning JW based on the look over TL, but the video comparing the two lights made the final decision for me. Especially the driving light output.

Which video? The TLG-Auto vid comparing the JW 8700 to the TL, is not the newer TL Complex Reflector.

Check this for more headlight info(post #238):
http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f96/h...7/index16.html
These are mentioned w/no review:
http://www.pmlights.com/products.cfm...Id=66&pId=3748
I wish there was a comparison of the JW 6045 & the TL 80275 in real world scenario like the above link does for headlights.

I liked the video you referenced on the driving light comparison. I don't care for the split lens TL, but I will check out the complex reflector

I'm not trying to polish TL's walnuts, just pointing out that the TL 27270C is different/better than their old 27250C. Of corse there is a difference in the aesthetics of the TL & JW. I think the split lense look you're referring too is the newer TL 27270C. It's too bad that the only review of the TL 80275 isn't real world outdoor/etc.
Can anybody who has JW 6045(or TL 80275) post a night pic/vid of the fog lights only, giving some distance in front of the JK?

This is true. I bought a set of JW Speaker Evolution 8700's (dated June) and the flicker was crazy. I called JW Speaker. They told me to take the lights back to the shop, and swap them for a pair dated post Aug. 17. I did. The new version has NO flicker. Love the lights.

It is very odd that no one has a video of the TL phase 7 headlights? I dont understand why TLG did a comparison of the JW with the old model TL, esp. when the phase 7's were out?

I did look up Hilldwellers headlt. shootout. Obviously he is a fan both the Phase 7 & the 8700 evo. depending on use. For me, its a matter of spending an extra 300 bucks or not. Decisions.

The question I have now is whether or not I should get some Lamin-x film to 1) protect the new lenses and 2) tint my fogs yellow (per DS findings).

Any thoughts here?

Trucklite phase 7

With regard to the phase 7's, I emailed Trucklite last week inquireing about the adaptor that will prevent the flicker. I received an email today 1/7, stating that the adaptor they are working on, is still in the testing stage, and that they hope that they will be available soon. No specific date of the anti flicker adaptor availabuility given.

I think TLG has one for Trucklite too. $69 or so. I just ordered the plug and play harness for the 6045 fog/driving lights for $18.

Hopefully this is the best place to post this - I just ordered a Metalcloak front bumper, and I'll end up with 4 holes in the bumper for lights. I'm planning on remounting the stock fogs in the center 2, then adding (soon I hope) some upgraded lights in the end caps. Any suggestions? I've been reading up on the legality requirements and what is or isn't allowed on the road, so I'm more looking for advice on what type of light would be most useful in the end cap positions. I don't do much offroading at night, and my '12 JK is my DD.

I'm gonna pull the trigger on the JW's but has anyone ordered the chrome ones over the all black?? They say chrome...but they look white in the pictures. I have an all white 13' Rubicon and I think it might look good but I cant tell.

Did Trucklite hint towards a price for the adapter?

I ordered chrome for my tan rubi. I figured it looked more like the stock chrome lights/reflectors and I didn't want the blackout look.

I received an email from Truck-Lite Technical Support as well.

I'm still waiting for them to get a fix before I jump on this. Well unless they will send me the fixed adapters for free after my purchase LOL.

Some customers with newer model Jeeps are seeing a Flickering when
changing to our LED headlamps. This happens because the Jeeps have a
PWM (pulse width modulation) module that is causing the flickering of
the LED lamps. We are working on a plug and play fix for this issue. We
have had some success in making adapters. They are in the testing stage.
We are expecting a them to be available very soon. I will keep this message
and let you know when they are available.

Since I'm getting tired of waiting for Trucklite to get with it, I think I'm going to order the JW's tomorrow. The black ones for my CG. Already thinking of painting the headlight retainer ring black as well.

No aiming issues I marked my garage door with the old factory lights that I adjusted after the lift & these are right on . They are only blinding in front of the jeep at trunk level but to the side the light is bright but not at all blinding seems perfect .

Does JW Speaker have some aiming instructions included with their 8700?

Just in case.
