I installed my JW Speaker 8700's last week with a harness from SMS, no flicker what so ever. Manufacturer date on it says January 3rd, 2013. I'm loving these lights!

Anyone running the new KC 3" Cube lights, similar to the Rigid Duallys? Just ordered two from Quadratec for about $140 each. I want spot beam pattern for the windshield mounts, so the Dually D2s are out. That left Duallys vs. these vs the Warn HID 2" spot beams (which look pretty nice with an integrated ballast). The KCs are only a little more than the duallys with what appears to be significantly more lumens (1800 vs 1300). The Warns only offer about the same output by the numbers (1850) but where way more money ($450 / pair).

So I went with the KCs, just wondering if anyone has them yet, they are pretty new.

I was wondering about these. I wish they were Spots and the rear connections didn't stick out so much. Anyone have these?

The JK problem is different and is more accurately described as pulsing or cycling ----- JWS does not have a product at this time to address that. They will; TL will also.
This has been a communication snafu that nobody has tried to fully remedy for too long.

For now, I'd use a harness from rallylights and add dongles for driving lights. That's just me.
Maybe a customer could talk to Ray and have him build a shorty adapter harness like in the photos; that could have dongles coming off it as well to trip other relays.

Bill, Welcome Back!

I looked at those also, but driving beam pattern only. They would be comparable to the Dually D2s.

just purchased a set of JW speaker 8700's from Discount Fleet Supply. Can't wait to get them installed and see the improvement over stock!

Discount Fleet

You'll like the JW's. I also bought from Discount Fleet. I hope you told them you're a Wrangler Forum member. They give you an extra discount. I got mine for just under $700 shipped. Their customer service is great too. One of the lamps they sent me had some cosmetic flaws with it. Called them and they shipped me out a replacement. I still have slight flicker with the lights, but its subtle. Vast improvement over stock.

I just found the Baja Designs Squadron 4 LED lights, 3" x 3", spot beam pattern and 3600 lumens. Serviceable also so you can replace parts. $300 each though is a little more than I want to spend but they are pretty sweet looking.

I finally got the JWs hooked up. Very pleased with the look and performance. Haven't had a good night run with them yet. I do wish the JKs didn't shut off the driving lights when you switch to brights.

I put blue led strips under the driver and passenger side dash and hooked them to a wire that only fires when the ignition is on. Same concept for you, find the dome light hot wire that is triggered when the door is open and tap in to that.

How did you tap in?

Fedex literally just dropped off my new Recon Lights for the turn signals and fenders. They are both supposed to be plug n' play, but the turn signals came with load resistors. Do I have to installed those as well?? I'm not exactly an electrician or mechanic.

I see KC has a new light bracket version 2 for windshield mounting, on the side. I thought I was going to make my own like that but ended up buying the Smittybuilt ones to keep the lights low and off to the side more. I wish I had seen these new KC light mounts sooner. I never understood why most manufacturers didn't make them using that location, in front of the side mirrors, makes more sense to me and won't take anything away from your view out of the windshield. They don't show for sale anywhere that I looked though. KC product number 7317.

I'm speaking for myself HD. My JWS 8700's do NOT flicker. I spoke directly with JWS when I bought my lights from my local 4x4 shop. The first set (PRE-Aug. 16) flickered like a strobe light. JWS told me to take them back, swap them out for lights manufactured POST-Aug 16. I did. No Flicker. I don't need the harness or dongles. Great lights.

Just went to install the Recon fender LED's. They are supposed to be plug and play although the connectors dont match up at all. Anyone recently order them? I have a 2013 JKU Rubicon however on the box it says for 07-09 although on their site it doesnt make any distinction to year. Actually it says for 07-13... This is frustrating. Please help..

The side mount doesn't interfere with the mirror when opening the door?

insight on recon led turn signals

irishbaja-
I recently purchased a pair of recon LED turn signals. Attempted to have them installed (with resistor on turn signals) but resulted in rapid blinking of of my IPCW rear led tail lights. Like you, I also have the TL headlamps. Can you tell me how you installed the recons and specifically if and how you dealt with rapid flashing. Even better if you have led tail lights and still managed to solve for it. Thanks in advance.

I sure hope they thought of that, lol. I'd expect the side mirror to radiate out, out of the way enough when opening.

Just installed TL headlight LED's on my 2012 Sport. They look great and were a very easy install, with the wiring adapter harness. Does anyone know if someone makes a headlight guard the will fit these?

I'm still on the fence on what lights to upgrade to. Either truck lites or rebel hellfire hid. I like the simplicity of installing the TL's with just one plug and popping in new lens but not so happy about the price. Hellfires less than half the price and no flicker issues. By the time I make a decision it'll be time for a new jeep.

I installed a pair of JWs over the weekend...it took me less than 15 minutes and so far no flickering. I got them from DFS with the WF discount. Funny thing, the harness I got (you have the option to include harness when add to cart) was Trucklite.
