Nope.....The brightness of my JW's is similar to xenons in a BMW.

Been running my new JW's for a few weeks now. Not a single flash at me. The bracket the headlights set into are already set at the factory. As long as that doesn't get screwed with, or you don't lift your vehicle too high with gigantic tires etc. shouldn't be a problem.

I dropped $700 shipped including harness...got the from discountfleetsuply.com with the WF 5% discount. Either JW's or Trucklites are a great improvement over stock headlights, night and day...you will not regret it

I haven't had any problems from other drivers regarding the brightness of the JW's.

I want to make sure I'm clear on my position on these lights. I LOVE them. They are much brighter and give me clearer visability of the road at night.

The flickering is only noticeable when I'm parked in my garage. I will get the antiflickering harness to address that ... but it doesn't really bother me.

Awesome, thanks! Is the stock wiring able to support a 35w bulb vs the stock 25w bulb without issues?

Hella 1000's

i have 2 hella 1000's that i just mounted on my aries push bar/grill guard. I have no complaints, every on-comming car does though lol. they are amazing offroading and driving late on country roads, but are WAY to bright for roads with any traffic.

Which harness did you get for JW's and is that the one everyone else is recommending to lose the flicker?

Nevermind....I'm dissapointed with the harness (like everyone else)....I didn't see flickering for a week or so and bam!!!! It comes and goes....I'll wait until JW sort it out before unloading more $$$. It depends on how picky you are, for the time being I can live with the flickering problem

instead of waiting for the jw's check out hidprojectors.com. i'm getting ready to order them. hid's with full wiring harness included for less. i have read a few headlight shootouts and they are top performers. several members here and on other forums LOVE them.

Did you use the harness from SMS (ralleylights.com) or something else. The SMS harness powers the lights directly from the battery while using the stock plugs to trigger the relays. This completely eliminates the PWM which causes the flicker.

I used the one I got from DFS when I purchased the JW's....interesting stuff @ www.rallylights.com, they have general info about the harness but it is a must to call uncle Ray because it is a custom job...I wonder how much they are.

The last I saw they were around $164 or 168. Thats been a while so it's probably different. I just bought one for doing the Hella E-code conversion, but that's a different animal. I'll look up the receipt and post that up later.

EDIT - The harness for the H4 Hella E-code conversion was $161.44 last week when I ordered it.

There is a slight flicker with my JW's. You almost cant notice it if you look directly at it, its more of a peripheral effect. There is a massive flicker at start up when the starter cranks but thats it. I emailed JW before my purchase about 3 weeks ago, they are about 2 months away from releasing some sort of "fix" for it so they say.
Regardless, they are worth it, flicker and all. It's such a drastic improvement over the stock lighting, you almost can't explain it. Buy em!

I just installed the JW Speaker 8700s on my 2012 Rubicon. What a difference, huge improvement over stock. Easy to set up done in about half an hour. Took it out briefly and did not notice any flickering used the harness supplied by DFS...will upgrade if it becomes an issue. Expensive mod but worth it.

Email from JW Speaker

"Thank you for your inquiry. We are working finishing the testing the
jumper harness. We hope to have this complete within the next few
weeks. When the jumper is complete, would you like me to send you a
list of dealers who will carry it? Thanks again."
