So.. to eliminate the flicker (and does this make my lights brighter) i would need the 160$ rally harness... And that goes right to the BAttery? How easy is the install? Or could i pay someone to do that?

I assume this is the harness that eliminates flicker? From RallyHarness. Ray is going to call me back

I am a little nervous about the install... so thats why I am curious if anyone has experience with it or I may have to just have the jeep dealer help me with it?

Install is easy. I'll give you the high level run down.

See the top part (black squares), you mount that by the battery and place the 2 squares in (plug and play). Then you run the read lead to the + on battery and black to the -. then you run the 3 wires to the front. The one that is different than the others runs to the passenger side light bulb. When you remove the connector from the H13 headlight, you plug this part into that. Then you plug the shorter connector into the new headlight. The longer one runs to the driver side and just plugs into the new headlight there.

very easy. Note this is how I did it in a '12. Not sure if different model years have different battery locations etc.

Basically the harness does not require you to replace the stock harness. It's pretty much all plug and play.

Xpresso - I'll try to get some pics later on to show you what I mean. It's all put back together so there won't be many of the connections at the bulbs, but I'll get what I can.

So... what makes the lights turn on? My Battery? Will I still have capability of my light swtich inside the car....
I saw these Model 8700 Evolution LED Headlight Upgrade Kit by JW Speaker

These are still double the price so I am happy with my trucklite purchase just want the flicker to go away

Everything works as is. No DRL, but I didn't set those with my procal anyway.

Here's how it works I think. The battery powers the lights through the new harness. The old harness is connected to the new harness. This is what tells the lights to go on and off.

No. Two battery connections, screwed on. Three connections that just plug in. And those brown boxes near the battery just plug into the relay. Really easy.

That is truly unfortunate. The pics were great, and I was able to do this harness with no prior experience.

Some tips I remember.

Take the battery out, it makes it much easier.

Mount the relay to the firewall behind the battery with small sheet metal screws (drill the holes first.)

The harness has 3 wires
The longest goes to the drivers new headlight bulb
The shortest connects to the plug that you pulled off the old passenger bulb
The other goes to the new passenger headlight bulb.

(The wire that goes to the passenger wire is the "trigger", that is how you can turn on your headlights with your normal column switch)

Routing the wires was the hardest part, and I had to release some of the plastic trim inside the engine bay to get the wires where I wantd them.

OH, and you have to shorten the clip on the male trigger line or it won't snap together with the old passenger wire, I think that pic is in here somewhere.

thanks for this info! I Was nervous that I would need to splice and dice but thankfully you and NDRugby are helping me figure this out. Now I just need to order the part How hard was it to shave off the clip on the male trigger line?
Do i need to take my bulbs back out to attach the plug?

First, I did the Hella upgrade as described and sold by Susquehanna motors. You get H4 buckets, and you buy your bulbs from them separately, I got Phillips exteme something. The bulbs turn in to the back of the "bucket (that's the reflector thing that you call the light). There is a rubber water protection thing that goes over the bulb prongs and the harness ends plug into the bulb, very simple! I did not trim the trigger wire. I didn't know about that trick. I couldn't get the two to stay together, so i duct taped them. Someday, when I have my grill off again, I will pull them apart and trim it. There is a great diagram on here, it is too hard to explain in words but will make immediate sense when you find the pic.

I'm not sure I understand the "flicker" thing, I think it happens when you are interfering with the canbus, and the so call pulsed width modualtion is affecting your circuit. These harness and relay systems completely bypass your system (except the low voltage trigger) and as such do not interfere with the canbus. So no, I have no flicker whatsoever.

This whole concept is why you need to consider an "sPOD" if you plan on adding up to 6 additional lights/electrical things to your system. This product also completely bypasses your stock system. Read about it sometime (it took me awhile to understand it)

Yup. That is on my list for sure. The guy who runs the company is really nice. he answered questions for me on the phone for half an hour one day. Now I need to come up with all the things I want to use it for...

Truck-Lite Flicker - YouTube

Thats the flicker.. its not TERRIBLE, but its noticeable. I bought the Truck-Lite LED's since I wanted something as close to my Acura TL HID lights.
Truck-Lite Ignition - YouTube

While Driving I dont see the flicker, but if I am stopped then I do.

I posted some pics of my install plus the diagram showing how to trim the factory headlight connector where it plugs into the upgrade harness somewhere in this thread. LOL

j0nx thinks I am a corporate spokesperson for Chrysler because I disagree with his pessimistic opinions about the head issue on the 3.6L. LOL

A shill, plant, or stooge is a person who publicly helps a person or organization without disclosing that he has a close relationship with that person or organization

You mean the harness Ray fabricated is used as a trigger switch for your driving lights, right?

Thanks SilverSport, I couldn't remember. Your diagram was perfect. I hope I didn't offend with my description. Some of the folks on here are so familiar with this stuff that they don't remember how confusing it is to someone like me that is clueless. I tried to word it the way I would have wanted to read it. There are far more indepth discussions of the electronics here, just not from me.

Personally, I think people are making much more of the head issue than it deserves. But, I suppose, I really am a "Chrysler Schill".

BTW, my PIAA's are still working fine as aux high beams.
