Truck-Lite Phase 7 Dead

I installed a brand new set of Truck-Lites and anti-flicker harnesses about a month ago. I love them! However, about a week ago, one stopped working one night. I went out to troubleshoot them after dinner, and they were both working again! Today, the one stopped working again. I drove 2 hours home, and it was still out. I've ruled out the JK wiring and the anti-flicker harness. The light unit is just dead.

Has anyone else had any issues?

I'll call the place I bought them from tomorrow and make them swap it out, just wondering how common this is. I couldn't find anyone else reporting it on the forum.

I havent heard of thais before. It really sounds like a loose connection somewhere.

My initial assumption was a bad connection, or bad harness. However, swapping the lights out proved that to be improbable. A multimeter on the contacts showed that it was getting juice. I was used to troubleshooting these kinds of issues when I ran HID kits, but didn't expect them with a $200 sealed headlight! Oh, well!

Thats strange, like I said, havent heard of any issues before. The only real complaint, other than price, is that its doesnt get hot enough to melt snow. Im sure it will be replaced under warranty. Will be interesting to hear what they say, please, let us know.

Are these the Phase 7s? I've had mine installed for about a year w/ the harness and a few days ago my driver side lamp started flickering badly. Now, that lamp will randomly turn on and off for long periods while driving. It's too cold to check the connections, but I'm hoping that's my issue.

Might want to check your harness. Also has dielectric grease to all of your harnesses

I made sure everything was greased when I initially installed them. Also, it's a brand new Jeep, so the connectors are immaculate. I assumed it was the harness too, but I've tested and swapped lights.

Since they're only few weeks old, Discount Fleet Supply is replacing the bad one under warranty. I don't have to deal with Truck Lite's warranty process.

Had the same problem. Running the RallyLights/SMS harness, checked the plugs and swapping them didn't change anything. Bought mine through Ebay from truck trailer direct. Sent it in for a replacement and now that one has a slight yellow tint compared to the original ones. Read someone else having one that was yellow tinted and Truck-lite said it was normal.

Still debating if I want to sell them, wish the low beams were as good as the high beams. KC/Peterson version looks more promising.

My tryck lites worked twice in a row (new record since the failure). Im still gonna disconnect the harness and blow it out with compressed air then add dielectric grease. I really hope it works since im loving these lights over stock.

Same here! Maddening.

My replacement arrived yesterday, so I'm good now.

Across every forum all I hear is issues with these lights even if you have anti flicker harness. Now they make the self defrosting ones, but still have (v) or (x) on the output, still a yellowish issue, and the defrosting leaves a cloudiness/haze on lights

Only issues I read about before purchasing was the v/x hot spot which depended on the person if it bothered them. After I got mine installed, read one case of someone having a yellowish tint, Capn and cmaggi2 on/off problem in this thread. I've had both problems, one working sporadically and that replacement came with a yellow tint. After seeing your KC pictures, I'm ready to jump ship.

I thought I could just swap headlights with the RallyLights/SMS Hella bi-halogen setup, but looks like I'd have to sell their H4 harness too and get the H13 to bi-halogen harness.

This just happened to me tonight too. I was driving and thought I saw a "flash". I figured it was just a reflection off the snow but when I got home my passenger headlight was out. Very upset as these are about a month old as well. I'll have to look at it more tomorrow. Hopefully I can get a replacement from the site I bought em from......

I ended up with Hella H4 E-Codes, like them a lot better than the Truck-lites. Picked up my 2nd replacement today, going to test them to make sure it works and it's the LED light is white, then off they go to their new owner. I should've gone with the RallyLights kit off the bat.

Sadly I also have the random cutting out of light on my trucklites. I did really like them until they were randomly going out or flickering while driving down the highway at night. Replacements from Trucklite are here and I am not sure if I should install them or move on.

The reason my Trucklite's were going dead was b/c my connection was loose. I have had NO probs since I reattached the connections and put a lil electrical tape so they couldn't move around any more. I even switched them to my newer JK and they have been fine.
