windshield mount KC question....

I received a set of the KC HiLites 5" Apollo Pro Driving Lights for Christmas and they came with a free set of windshield mount brackets. Can anyone tell me if these lights are designed to be left side and right side specific?

I noticed both my light housings to be identical with the wires of both exiting from the right side when looked at from the front. On the passenger side mount the wire exiting the housing will be able to be tucked under the cowl.

The drivers side wires exiting the housing will have to be ran around the housing before being tucked under the cowl as the wires do not exit on the cowl side.

Also both lights only have maybe 6 inches of wire exiting the housing and have a quick connect attachment that is too bulky to fit under the cowl. All the installs I have seen here seem to not have this connection. Do most users simply cut this connection off and splice the wires for a thinner fit?

Thanks for any help as a search turned up nothing for me.

1-the lights are all the same so there is no left/right but there is a top and bottom like most lenses.

2-quick connect as in the grey colored, weatherpack Deutsch connectors or the simple bullet style? If it's the deutsch, i would find a way to make them work before cutting them off since they're very good OEM quality connectors. There's nothing wrong with having the connectors on the outside.
