Wurx led headlights

It's finished installing a set of the new wurx headlights. Install was a breeze, as they use the stock housing. It's as simple as changing a headlight bulb.

They have been running these in their rigs without an anti flicker harness, so I'm hopeful i won't need one either. Now I'm just waiting til it's dark to aim them

It's for the pair. The box has 2 led 'bulbs', and 2 of the ballasts. Each of the bulbs has 2 led panels on them, one on each side. Low beams light up one panel, high beams light both.

I wonder if it works very well in the stock housing or if you should change housing to get full effect.

Not sure on the dot. A new housing would probably work better, but it's an attractive price, and I figured I might as well give it a shot and share the results.

I've never seen LED lights that need a ballast. Interesting.

Not being DOT approved could be a pain with NJ police. I already have been stopped for my Speaker 8700's.

I thought that both the Speakers and TruckLite's were DOT approved.

I know Speakers are. They have DOT markings right on them.

Ridiculous, is there any real crime in the state of NJ?

Truck Lites are as well. They have the DOT stamp on the lens.

I'd love to see some night photos. Even better, some compare photos between these and TLs or JWs. Good luck!

Does anyone know if these will work if you activate the DRLs?

I'll check to see if drl's work. No pics yet, hoping for tomorrow. Did get a chance to aim them, a lot more light than stock, but definitely limited by stock housings.

I'm interested in these too, much better price than other options and uses the stock housing.

I just spoke to Jake at Wurx Industries who said these are DOT certified and includes that on the instruction book. I'm wondering if the OP of this thread would be good enough to confirm that? He also said it's a good idea to throw that booklet into the glove compartment in case you need it.

Jake said you can reach him at Wurx Industries directly during business hours. Apparently Wurx has sold over 300 kits in the past two weeks...

He will be sending me some PICS I'll post tomorrow, and the recommendation is to be sure you aim your lights properly as they are very bright.

I didn't get an instruction booklet. They're pretty simple to install, so didn't need them. I had my order in before they had them on the website, so it might just be because I was early.

Jakes Facebook is "jake at wurx". His customer service is great. He's been pretty good for tjk down in tampa

Exclamation I asked the same thing, see edit.

I asked the same thing, I edited the post to indicate high beam.

I think the angle of the Jeep may be in play in that pic, also the location being in the woods. It's definitely a bright white, but it's the first pic I've seen and I don't own them. Need more pics!

He said he'll deliver more pics tomorrow, but hopefully the OP can post pics too. Nothing like a consumer to demonstrate the product.

In that picture it sure is a white beam, but barely light up a one line width. I need more and better picture to convinced me, but I do like the idea.

I did some searching and it seems like these are out from various venders. Here is an install video I found.
I also noticed Wurx has some pics posted on various places on the net but nothing great yet.

They don't cast any light to the side. The Truck-Lites will light up the road and quite a lot of each side at a wide angle. It's like having spots and floods all in one. If the pic above were of the Truck-Lites, the entire frame would be well lit, not just the area in front of the Jeep. I'm wondering how easy it will be to read road-side signage with those.
