Question bump! Kinda off topic, hope it's cool! What was your mpg with the 4.10 gear ratio? Also do you know if the receiver hitch is 2"? Thanks

Mpg

Hi Yellow Fox,

Jeep advertises 16 city / 20 highway on the 5-speed auto. I never really cared about the mpg, if I did I would be driving something different.

So, I had to go out and look, it keeps the average and it was at 15.1 mpg. I have never reset it and I drive more city than highway. I am not sure how accurate that is, I have read that guys have measured between fill ups and figured higher and lower numbers than what the average on the info screen says. Some people have even reported lower mpg at first and then a steady increase to what Jeep puts on the sticker.

Keep in mind my Jeep has a 2" Fox lift, the AEV premium bumper with bar and skid plate along with a Warn 9.5 cti-s winch and plate so that weight and higher front rake will affect the mpg. The way you drive and where you drive also effects it. I may be missing other reasons but I think those are the basics. Hope this helps!

Regards,

Mike

Beautiful rig. Way too nice for me. I'd feel guilty driving something that purdy.

This might be a stupid question, but did you lift it without adding bigger tires and wheels? I assume those are stock what you have on now. Do you know how big the tire size you are able to go up? Thanks.

The tires and wheels are stock. Directly from the Fox / Mopar Lift kit:

Wheel and Tire Recommendations:
Tire Diameter:
Up to 35"
Tire Width: No greater than 12.5"
NOTE: Tires wider than 10.5" may require wheels with dimensions as follows:
Wheel Diameter: No less than 17"
Wheel Width: 8"- 9". Do not use less than an 8.5" wide wheel with a 12.5" wide tire.
Wheel Back Spacing: 3.25" to 4.75". As backspacing dimension decreases, track width and stability increase.

I hope this answers your question.
