Since it plugs into the CanBus wiring system for the Jeep, the dealer has to "flash" it into your system so that the computer knows to look for it and use it. You just have to call them up and schedule an appointment for them to do it.
IF you already have the bluetooth and mic, you already have the uconnect so no need to buy another. :-)
The base model that doesnt come with uconnect, only has the 130 radio with no bluetooth or hands free phone.
Corey, I'm new to Jeeps and we just bought a used 2012 UR that does not have bluetooth, just the standard radio. If we picked up your unit, do you know what else we would need to give the wife hands free phone? Thanks.
Thanks. I'll have to do some more research to see if this will work for us. I'm not even 100% sure which radio we have (no access to the Jeep or manual right now). I did find a photo I took that shows it though:
the 430 isnt in the sale, its the Uconnect that was connected to it previously. I had sold the 430N last week and the part I have left is the Uconnect module and wire harness (minus the mic).
So if you bought the Uconnect from me, you would need just the Mic and the Button module.
(please verify the part numbers)
Button Module: 68002645AA
does the mic plug into the uconnect module, or the 430N?
"Our culture has accepted two HUGE lies!!! The first is that if you disagree with someone's lifestyle, you must fear or hate them. The second is that to love somone you must agree with everything they believe or do!!! BOTH are nonsense!!! You do not have to compromise convictions to be compassionate."
The mic plugs into the head unit if you have the appropriate radio. If you have to buy the kit due to your radio not having the uconnect buttons on it, then the mic plugs into the harness that has the uconnect button module.
