Hesco Supercharger

I have a Hesco Supercharger that I purchased used just a few months ago. My plan was to put this on my 98' XJ Cherokee, but have decided to go another route. The original owner had it installed on his 2002 TJ Wrangler. Hesco's website shows that it fits 1987-1995 Wranglers, Cherokees and Grand Cherokees with a 4.0L engine (w/o ABS brakes)and 1997-2004 TJ's, but from the research I've done it should fit newer 96-01 Cherokee's and Grand Cherokees with the 4.0L.

Since it was never installed on my Jeep, I'm not 100% positive that everything works as it should, but the supercharger tuns free and correct like it should. The original owner said it had only 15k on it, and was in perfect working condition when he removed it. It comes with the brackets needed to bolt the supercharger to your Jeep, but does look like it's missing some hardware and lines. I was able to get a hold of Hesco and they e-mailed me all the instructions, parts list, and pictures to make the install easy and complete.

This is one of the rarest supercharger kits and one of the best made for a 4.0. I am pretty firm on the price, as they aren't produced anymore and were retailing for $4250.00 when they were available. What makes this kit even better is it already comes with the Uni-Chip piggyback ECU that can give you unlimited tuning options for boost levels and fuel setups. The fuel system that Hesco offered with the supercharger was a terrible design, adding another fuel pump and regulator under the hood to increase fuel pressure at the fuel rail once it started to see boost. Anyone who is familiar with boosted vehicles knows this is a terrible idea. It wanted to increase fuel pressure and use your stock fuel pump and injectors. But with the Uni-Chip, I would recommend using a Walbro 255 pump or similar, along with the Ford Mustang Cobra injectors (03/04 39lb) that I am including. This is a much better way to add fuel to match the increased air from the supercharger and the Uni-Chip can tune using larger injectors.

The kit comes with everything that is pictured, including two mounting brackets, the supercharger, bosch bypass valve, serpentine belt, Uni-Chip piggyback ECU, 8 Ford Mustang Cobra 39lb injectors, and misc hardware. I will also forward the install instructions, parts list, and pictures that Hesco gave me. This is a great kit that is very hard to find and will give your Jeep the extra HP that you want on the highway or in the trails.

No one wants one of the best and rarest blowers out there that fits under the stock hood?

They're $4200 new minus the tuning software and injectors that I'm throwing in. Plus with how rare the kit is, I figure it's a steal at the price

Any idea what this would do on fuel mileage? I may be interested to add this unit to my TJ. I didn't see any info on their site. Thanks

Some say it stays right around the same, but I'm sure it all depends on how much you want to hear the blower whine . Don't forget you also have to put 93 in it.

I would say your going to look at around minus 2 gallons to the mile at a minimum. The only reason why you put a blower on a car is to go faster. And im going to take a wild that your wanting more power. I think the best application for a supercharger on a jeep would be sand driving since its all horsepower when you get in the dunes. Rockes are all torque and crawling. Anyway 1850 for a (working/running) supercharger isnt a bad deal. But your going to have to set it up and tune and tweak it alot. Not trying to hurt your sale buddy, that thing is wicked cool.

A roots style supercharger makes great power and especially torque at very low rpm, usually starting at 1500 rpm, therefore this type of forced induction can be great for any on or offroad application, whethere it be accleration onto highways, rock crawling, mud, trails, sand, ect.

I don't think it will take much tuning, as the boost level is fixed by the pulley size. But I have a boost gauge, wideband, and piggyback tuning system to make it all work. Not selling that with it as of now.

But you're right, getting a boosted application for our Jeeps at this price is a steal.
