Roll Cage Padding/Cover (Black) 2005

I'm selling the rollcage padding and cover from my 2005 Wrangler. It's the thicker foam padding with the black cover. It will fit any TJ, so if you have an older TJ and want it to have a "beefier" looking rollcage, this will work for you. I'm keeping the covers that fit on the windshield braces. They seem to be the same as the older TJs, so you can keep yours. I need to keep mine so my Bestop Bikini will fit correctly.

I'm asking $65 plus shipping for the cover and all the padding. The padding is bulky but light.

Here's a pic of the rollcage prior to the cover/padding removal. Sorry, it's an older pic, but the cover looks the same!! It's in EXCELLENT condition.

How hard is it to replace? Is it still black? I might have to take it off your hands...

It's still black, lol......and it's simple to replace. The only tool you'll need that you might not have is a big Torx bit for your ratchet. Think it's a T55 or maybe just a T50. It's for removing/replacing your seatbelt/rollcage mounts. I had my padding and the cover off in about 10 minutes, but I also don't run any rear seatbelts, so add another 10 minutes to the process of removing your padding/cover and replacing a new set if you have rear seat belts.

It's the rear belts that concern me. Isn't there some trick that you aren't supposed to let them recoil all the way or something? I gotta have rear belts, all the time, I gots kiddos....

Not sure about a rear belt trick. I removed mine a couple of years ago. I didn't worry about letting them all the way in. I used to work in a bodyshop (many years ago) and dissecting a seatbelt reel is relatively simple. You could always zip-tie the belt where it enters the reel, that way it won't let the webbing retract. Just an idea.

I'm gonna think about it, and see if I can recruit some assistance, but if someone comes along with cash in hand, go ahead and sell them...

IG-

I just did this so I could clean up my rollbar covers. I took a spring loaded "ratchet" clamp and tightly squeezed the belt halves together (I'm 2 glasses of wine into the evening, so I hope that makes sense.) They won't retract at that point, and it makes the job very easy. Just keep an eye out for the spacer that sits between the bar and the belt mount.....one of mine dropped out and I had a devil of a time finding it in the Jeep (black spacer, black mats.)

I'd guess that it will add more like 4 minutes to the removal/reinstall time. Pretty easy (I'm a history major, so if I can do it, you can do it faster!)

Padding and cover are sold, paid for, and shipped.

Thanks for the interest, guys and gal. I'll have some more stuff listed here in the next couple of days, depending on how busy I am with work.
