Rubicon dana 44

Hey everyone, looking for a rubicon model dana 44 from a TJ with the air locker still in it and in working order. Hopefully someone in California so you don't have to ship.

I saw a matching set on San Francisco area craigslist for like 3500 I think.

Darn, thanks for the tip but the seller ended up getting rid of them before I even emailed. Still looking

4.11 gears would be ideal.

Honestly I would never buy Rubicon axles after owning them. An HP30 from an XJ has a stronger gearset, and all the outers are the same. In the rear just get a standard D44 on an 8.8. Throw in some ARBs, chromoly shafts and you are way better then a Rubicon 44.

IF you buy a Rubicon 44 you will end up throwing ARB's in it in a few years anyway which will cost you more money then the suggestion above. I've broken 2 Rubicon lockers already and I don't have a heavy foot.

Just my 2 cents trying to save a fellow Jeeper some money.

Yes there junk for anything over a 33" since i put 35" on mine Iv bent the front twice save your money

Idk what axles yall are running but in my rubicon ive had no problems. Ive got the factory gears and all running 35's and have had no problems and ive pushed mine pretty hard. I would suggest the rubi 44's to anyone unless they planned on doing extreme wheeling then go with 60's. And im pretty sure an 8.8 is the same as a 44 but dont hold me to it. OP dont rule out the 44's

Also I am no longer looking for an Axle. Thanks for the help. I bought a Dana 44 today from a tj with limited slip. I'm going to repaint it and put in an ARB locker.

Eaton elocker and Arb air lockers are the best selectable lockers on the market in my opinion. The ARB lockers are supposed to be stronger and engage easier/quicker but require running air line and an air pump (added cost) .The Eaton locker just requires running the wires so its likely easier to install. Both are great lockers and both are run in high stress races like king of hammers. If I had the money I would go ARB and never look back, but for the cheaper price Eaton makes a great Locker.

Gear ratio because the carrier for the gears is a different size. You need to get a locker that matches your gear size in that range as well as the axle.
