2012 for me. There shouldn't be any difference for the 13.

Steal away! If you need a new stock bumper, check on Craigslist. I see them of there all of the time for very cheap or sometimes free. Also, if you have a 4x4 shop close by, go check with them. A lot of times they have a bunch piled up from people who get new bumpers and leave these behind.

I had the silver appliqué that comes with the Saharas. I sold those on eBay and bought these, also on eBay. If you are going to add the appliqué you definitely want to do it before you put the bar on. The bar actually sits on top of it.

Yes, that pump makes it tricky to access the driver's side bumper bolts. It is definitely possible though. I had to use a combination of different ratchet extensions for each bolt. One tip would be to remove the plastic trim piece between the bumper and the grill. It allows you to get clear access to the bolts from the top. If you are going to keep that trim piece you will have to reattach the bumper from the bottom because it will again be in the way. At least it makes taking it off easier.

The trickiest part for me was actually taking out the little plastic screw clip that hold the plastic pieces on. You can access the rear of most of them. On those you can push the inner screw out from behind with your finger or a driver. Another quick method for the stubborn ones are to screw a small screw into the center s couple of threads, and then just pull up on the screw with some pliers. They will pop right out.

Agree on the drivers side bolts. PITA but doable.

My install went very nice

Done and I am very happy!!!

Everything went together like it was made to.

I bought a 7/32" Allen Wrench from the hardware store for 85 cents and cut it to make a shorty for the bolt just under the tow hook.

I had an issue getting out the plastic clips that held the "filler trim" and I will need to replace them. My bad.

It is a very solid bar that I highly recommend! The fit! The finish! It compliments my factory bumper!

Next...I'll be shopping for some lights.

I've been watching Craigslist for front bumpers and any other jeep parts I can find. You can definitely get stock stuff dirt cheap. I'll check eBay for the appliqué though. Thanks.

I doubt I'll even put the "filler trim" back in when I do mine. I mean why?

Yeah, I debated back and forth. It covers that pump though and I thought it just gave it a more finished look. It's definitely user preference though. There are a ton running without it.

top filler trim

Well...

Yep you can run without that piece of trim. Without it there is a gap left that is big enough for you to see a lot of stuff I prefer hidden.

I guess it is large enough to look down into butt not large enough to get into to do much. I didn't want to expose any wiring. I don't want to see that vacuum pump thing. I don't want to see the paint fall off my shiny new frame. It's one of those things that no one butt you will notice. My guess is it will probably be the first thing I look at when I walk around the front of my Jeep. I won't even see the kewl Bull Bar and lights.

Can you put it back at a later date?

Sure. If you're too lazy to make it fit now [I mean no disrespect!] how lazy are you going to be when you have to remove your bumper again because it bugs you that it is not there?

Either way you are not WRONG! It is a personal choice/preference. My 2 cents says make it fit.

Well said hemiroid. I didn't have any trouble making it fit. It still fits fine with the bar. If I remember correctly, the instructions said to get rid of the plastic clips that hold it in. I guess the combination of the bar/grill would hold it in. I reused the clips though. On mine the trim piece was actually pushed a little further back. I extended the holes by drilling an extra 1/4 inch or so.

Wow! I must say this is starting to appeal to me. These are looking good, and the reviews from you guys are outstanding.
I've been saving / justifying the coin for an AEV bumper (w/ hoop), but this looks like a definite possibility... Please post pics with lights when you guys get them installed!!

I really like the idea of only adding 30-35 lbs to my front end vs. an add'l 100 +/- lbs. Not to mention the $1000 delta.

Does anyone know if this would fit the 10th anniversary Rubicon bumper?

I really love the 10A bumper but thought it was missing this protection which I count as necessary in deer country.

Leave the filler trim loose in place for the next step if you plan to keep it.

Like reissc1 wrote it is right there in the instructions. I studied the install guide for days while my bar was being shipped. I have to laugh at myself that things just do not stick even though they are right there in front of me.

That should let you know how easy of an install this is!

If I can handle it most anyone can.

FYI my Jeep is a 2013 and there was no jury rigging involved for my install. Nothing needed to be relocated and no relocation kit needed to be purchased like some similar kits.

Tredge...

Send an e-mail to sales@maximus-3.com about the 10th Anniversary Ruby bumper. I would guess your frame and my frame are one in the same so it would attach the same. I have not seen a new Ruby bumper to see if there is much difference compared to my bumper. If you have the ability to install a winch you would probably just get the bar/hoop. I would guess that you have the choice of the factory winch location or the aftermarket light bar.

Hmmm...

Can you still get the grill off with this bar installed?

Also, will a 12" or 20" LED light bar fit on the mounting brackets?

I can answer half of that question. I actually installed the bar with my grill off. It does go on and off, but you have to squeeze the grill on against the headlights. I put a thin blanket over the grill between the bar on one side and the lights on the other. It was tight but slid right in. I started to do it without the blanket and noticed one of the grill clips was starting to scratch the headlight. After it is in you can just pull the blanket right off to clip the grill back in.

The light mount holes are 10 1/4" apart from center to center. I'm not sure if that helps or not.

I'm finally in the market to get one of these, but I was wondering if anyone here has gotten the hoop without the aux light mount. I love the hoop and I want aux lights underneath it, but its $70 more with the light mount. Has anyone here used other aftermarket mounts on the stock bumper? If so, are they stable or do the lights bounce around offroad. As solid as the maximus one looks I doubt you'll get any movement on theirs, but I'm just trying to decide if it's worth that much more.

Those are the rugged ridge latches. About 120 or less on sale on the interwebs.

Does anyone know if these would work on the call of duty bumpers (aev bumper without the hoop)?

I managed to get a stock bumper from a guy on Craigslist for $40 in pretty good shape, so I'm getting ready to order the hoop. Since I'm opting to go with the non-light mount version, I was looking for bumper mount light brackets to use instead. Has anyone used these Quadratec mounts? Do you think they'll interfere with the hoop? I'd like install everything at once so I'm not taking the bumper off every weekend.

They look a little wide spread. If they work, you might have to use smaller lights than what's in the picture.

That's what I thought too, but looking at the Q install guide, it looks like you may be able to swap the left/right ones to get a closer fit. I was hoping someone on WF had experience with these and could offer insight.

Very nice! I like the look of the black painted bumper plate too.
