I guess the thread was growing big and popular before maximus-3 became a supporting vendor so they disabled it. But they are now a WF sponsor, so they brought it back

Cool, I didn't know Maximus-3 was going to become a sponsor. Welcome aboard M3!

For anyone new to the thread... the M3 grill guard is awesome! I've had mine for a few months now and love it. Here's the hoop on my 2013 billet silver JK. I've got the Quadratec grill light mounts instead of the M3 ones and everything fits fine. (I've probably posted this before, but I'm to lazy to look back over 200 posts on my phone).

Shipping to geographical disadvantage areas

MAXIMUS-3 is helping the Jeep Community from geographically disadvantage areas - Canada, Alaska, and Hawaii by offering a 30% discount on shipping charges. It's a Jeep thing.

It's expensive to ship to Alaska.

So, I'll repeat my question. Has anyone actually winched themselves with this thing? Does it hold up to over a ton of force?

I haven't seen any reports of this yet. I currently have the set up with just the bar and lights. I think I'm going to order the winch plate very soon to give it a try. I'll report back.

I can say that I love my current set up. It feels extremely stout. I do trust that the company had done their engineering due diligence. I will let you know as soon as I try it out.

I wonder if there is a "recessed" winch plate option for this.

I like the look of the winch being DOWN inside the bumper [like the 10A version] instead of up in front of the radiator.

I don't think there is for this product. I've decided (whenever I actually buy a winch) to mount it inside of the bumper. Looks cleaner, IMO.

Does anyone have some images of the hoop mounted backwards (i.e., sloped away from the grill)?

I ordered already - just trying to figure out how I want to mount it.

I haven't seen it yet. I have the winch plate coming. (light plate on right now) I'll play around with it when I put it on.

It only goes on one way. Just follow the directions. Besides, you don't want to be ass backwards!! Unless of course you're a liberal! Ha

There shouldn't be anything keeping you from mounting it the opposite way. All you have to do is take out the top 8 bolts holding it in and flip it around. I will try it pretty soon and pass along my results.

I am very interested in this light bar and hoop . I would like to know more about the OE valance panel between the bumper and the grill . Does it line up for reuse ?
Also , how the light mount brackets hitch to the bottom plate , nut and bolt ? Or threaded into the bottom plate . Anybody have pics of the bottom of the bottom plate ? Thanks , JB

You can reuse the valance. I guess it all comes down to personal preference, but I did keep mine on. The plate actually pushes the panel a little further back under the grill. I this this on its own would essentially lock it in place. The original holes are misaligned due to the plate pushing it back. I chose to just extend the original hole a little more with a drill. This allowed me to reuse the push pins to lock it in. I think the manufacturer just relies on the valance plate being sandwiched in between the plate and the grill though.

The light mount brackets are threaded to the plate.

After what seems like forever, I finally got permission to order some lights and a Maximus-3 set up... It'll be installed next weekend... To keep on the same topic as was currently being discussed... Can anyone provide a shot of their setup with or without the factory trim piece (the one between the bumper and the grille)... I hadn't realized that it wouldn't be screwed back in and I wouldn't like the idea of empty holes just staring at me... How does it look without that piece? What about with? I haven't seen anybody post pictures from that angle, so any help is GREATLY appreciated. Have a good one!

Here are some shots of the balance behind my bumper. Let me know if you would like a picture of something else specifically.

Got my lights and hoop all installed today... Connecting all the electrical tomorrow... Gotta say... The process was rather straightforward... Sure I got lots of dirt falling into my eyes and needed more than one size of socket extension, but all-in-all I REALLY like the look and feel of this setup... Extremely happy with my purchase...

Looks good!

Hopefully pull the trigger on one of these and some stubby end caps by the end of the year.

On mine it did push it back to where the plastic screws of the top cover don't align where they go, but it's wedged in there pretty tight between two pieces of metal and under the plastic bumper, so I didn't re-use the plastic screws. I doubt it will go anywhere. The hoop itself is a top-notch quality product.
how much did you pay for the bar?

I'm not sure if this thread is still going, but I will try. I recently ordered a JKURX that has the same bumper as the 10A rubicon. I found the Maximus 3 stuff online to set my bumper up with the hoop, recessed winch plate, a couple of other necessary items, light brackets, and a hawse fair lead but the price seems high to me coming in around $700. Is there something I should I know or a website to visit where I can find this cheaper? I found these prices from the Maximus website.

As far as I know, Maximus-3 is the only place to get their products... They have only been on the market a short time... Unless I'm mistaken...
