08 wrangler tow capacity

looking to tow a '71 Kayot Forrester caravan, approx 1800lbs
with a 2000lb tow capacity
from iowa to montana.

good idea or bad? thinking i'd be OK on the plains but not sure about the mountain driving w/ it that close to capacity.

the only saving grace, imo, is that my Bettie is invincible!

Remember when towing unless it's flat towing you got to include the weight of the trailer that your pulling as well.. That would put you well past 2K i expect

craptosin. that's what i was thinking... and if i threw any crap or other humans in w/ the camper, i'd go over it anyway. i was reading thru the other forum posts and sounds like this is too close for capacity for my comfort.
guess i should stick to the tent campin' for now!
thanks for the replies!
drive hard. take chances.
