1971 Jeepster Commando

I am hoping for some input from you guys. I have found a lady who is wanting to sell her husbands 71 Jeepster. He was an airline mechanic who purchased the it new in 71 it has 29000 miles on the odometer and I'm pretty sure it is original mileage based on maintenance records found in the Jeep. He had pulled it apart because he heard a noise from the engine and before he could put it back together he passed away. It has NO rust on the body or frame and has been sitting in her garage for the past 15 years untouched. All the parts are there engine, trans and transfer case are pulled out. She is looking for $1,000 for it. Any thoughts on if it is worth it or not.
Thanks

Im not a Jeep guru, but for a $1000 and low miles Id say take it. Its a classic Jeep, enough said. Check out JP magazines June and August 2011 issues, they do a build up on a late 60's Commando. The August issue builds up the original 225ci Dauntless V6 engine.

If you don't, tell me where it is so I can buy it!

LOLZ! Where is it?? I'll pick it up for a grand! Who cares about the motor. If everything else has less than 30k, and no rust, just drop in a small V8 and run it, show & shine it, or sell it.

FFS, buy it or tell me where to send the money. As described that's a steal.
